About the Role:
We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented
Technical Writer
with a background in Department of Defense (DoD) environments. The ideal candidate will have strong technical writing skills combined with the ability to understand complex technical and operational concepts and communicate them effectively to a broad audience. This role will involve creating, editing, and organizing technical documentation to support our DoD clients in compliance with industry standards and security requirements.
This is a 3 month contract to direct hire.
Responsibilities:Develop, edit, and maintain technical documentation, including user manuals, standard operating procedures (SOPs), training materials, software and hardware guides, and policy documents.Collaborate closely with engineering, product, and operational teams to gather information, understand requirements, and translate complex technical information into clear and concise documentation.Ensure all documentation is compliant with DoD standards, security regulations (such as NIST, CMMC, or DFARS), and relevant industry guidelines.Manage version control and the lifecycle of documents, ensuring accurate, up-to-date, and accessible documentation at all times.Review and verify technical documentation for accuracy, consistency, and completeness, ensuring documents meet readability standards for the intended audience.Assist with proposal writing and other contractual documentation as needed.Provide guidance and quality assurance on all written materials, ensuring that the tone, style, and format are appropriate for DoD audiences.Maintain and update document templates and style guides as per DoD and company standards.Conduct periodic training or workshops on document management and DoD compliance for internal teams as needed.
$35 - $50 an hour
