General Information:We are seeking a skilled Design Tool Development Engineer to join our North American Engineering team. This role focuses on developing and optimizing 3D mechanical design tools, particularly for the tank and external components of power transformers. The successful candidate will contribute to local and global design initiatives, collaborating with multiple manufacturing locations and providing technical expertise for engineering tools.Your Responsibilities:Development and maintenance of design tools and 3d models used by our North American Power Transformer Design Engineers.Collaborate with the global Hitachi Energy design platform to develop tools for various mechanical design areasManage hotline requests and development activities to ensure timely delivery of design tool patchesPerform FEA simulations and create analytical models to be used within the design toolsGenerate ideas and execute projects related to engineering tool development and enhancementParticipate in design concept reviews and suggest design improvementsProvide training to users and offer troubleshooting support for design tools and processes.Living Hitachi Energy's core values of safety and integrity, which means taking responsibility for your own actions while caring for your colleagues and the business.
Your Background:Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering.Candidate must already have work authorization that would permit them to work for Hitachi Energy in the United States.3+ years of mechanical engineering / design experience in the power transformer manufacturing industryProficiency with 3d modeling, PTC Creo highly preferredExperience with tool development including external tool kits, pro-program, layouts / notebooks, and an in-depth understanding of relationsExperience creating standard parametric models intended for repeated useExperience performing FEA simulations (ANYS, COMSOL, Creo Simulation, etc.)Understanding of various manufacturing processes and their relation to product design principles (DFM / DFA)Skills and Competencies:Proficiency in organizing tasks and delivering
