Audio Visual Technician at Coeur d'Alene Resort in Coeur d'Alene, Idaho, United States Job Description Job Summary The Audio Visual Technician is responsible for fulfilling the daily operations of AV equipment setup and teardown as outlined in the Banquet Event Orders, maintenance of facility AV systems, maintaining quality standards, and anticipating and fulfilling the expectations and needs of the guests. This job description provides a basic guideline of duties, responsibilities and requirements of this position within the department. Essential Functions Guest Services + Setup and test all AV equipment. Equipment should be ready an hour before the guest event start time as outlined in the Banquet Event Orders (BEO) unless change-over time prevents. + Ensure that all equipment is functioning properly and correctly matches or surpasses the equipment on the BEO unless otherwise agreed upon with the guest and the Catering Manager/Conference Service Manager (CM/CSM). + Communicate with the guest and the CM/CSM prior to the event to ensure that all the expectations and needs of the guest are properly fulfilled. Maintenance, installation and training + Maintain and clean all portable AV equipment. + Report all malfunctioning equipment to the Assistant Director of Banquets. Job Requirements + High School diploma or equivalent preferred. + Must have common knowledge of AV equipment. + Overall excellent customer service, excellent oral communication and listening skills. + Punctual and open availability. + Excellent customer service skills. + Ability to speak and hear well. Must have clear and accurate visual focus abilities. The ability to recognize different audio frequencies preferred. + Frequently walking (up to 8 hours or more) with some standing at times, possibly extended distances. Ability to climb stairs and ladders. Ability to bend and kneel. + Frequently lift/carry up to 50 lbs. and occasionally lift/carry up to 70 lbs. + Ability to reach with hands and arms in any direction and kneel and stoop repeatedly. + Ability to operate various styles of manlifts preferred. + Ability to safely and securely rig overhead equipment following all Resort safety standards.
