SUMMARY
The Content Specialist reports to the Vice President of Marketing and Institutional Image. This position is responsible for managing content-related marketing projects such as website creation, publications and admissions/enrollment email and CRM communications. Working with the Vice President, the Content Specialist II leads the brand voice of the college. The Specialist II produces creative, error-free writing that compels audiences to action. This position provides metrics and insight on the best strategies to create results-driven headlines, text, and call-to-action, using the latest knowledge in SEO writing.

WORK SCHEDULE
Assigned 40 hours per week, during regular hours of Monday - Friday, 8:00 am - 5:00 pm. Must be able to work a variable schedule/hour to meet operational needs. It may require evening and weekend hours.

POSITION DESCRIPTION
- Create compelling copy for marketing materials, such as website content, brochures, emails, and social media posts
- Develop and maintain content for CRM and other email communication flows for admissions, advising, and enrollment processes.
- Direct creative written content that resonates with audiences and effectively meets metrics.
- Responsible for the supervision of student employees.
- Write website content that impacts audiences and optimizes search results.
- Manage content-related projects in the division.
- Promotes the college to audiences, especially to support work in advertising, enrollment management, giving, athletics and reputation enhancement.
- Use market and customer research insight to understand target audiences and create relevant and engaging copy.
- Assign, prioritize, and supervise project tasks and deadlines. Report project progress to supervisor.
- Work closely with the design teams to integrate copy with visual elements.
- Reviews and edits all marketing content to ensure consistency with college guidelines for readability, brand standards, and grammatical correctness.
- Create and maintain KCKCC style guide in conjunction with the public information manager.
- Collaborate with other departments to create cohesive marketing materials.
- Contributes to the overall success of the Division of Marketing and Institutional Image by performing all other duties and responsibilities as assigned.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES
- Ability to manage several projects with multiple deadlines simultaneously.
- Ability to develop collaborative relationships and work across divisions.
- Communicates effectively with a focus on team-based decision-making.
- Creative and polished writing following grammar, spelling, and other style conventions.
- Knowledge of Adobe Creative Suite and Microsoft Office.
- Attention to detail to create error-free communication.
- Works well independently and with a team.
- Knowledge of search keywords and search optimization practices.
- Ability to write in a brand's voice for multiple audiences.
- Uses qualitative and quantitative analysis to guide content decisions.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelor's degree in Communication, Marketing, English or related field.
- Minimum of two (2) years of experience in copywriting.

- Two (2) years of experience in higher education.
- Bilingual Spanish speaker.
- One year of experience writing for CRM email campaigns.
