Principal Responsibilities:
The Tucson J is seeking a creative, dynamic, and strategic Marketing Content Specialist to join our small but mighty marketing team. This role acts as a key player in the execution of a three-prong marketing plan that includes inbound marketing strategy, community engagement, and traditional promotion across a variety of mediums including website, social media, email, video, public relations and more. The marketing team works cross-departmentally to support the work of 8+ program areas and guides the entire agency in adhering to its brand standards. The ideal candidate will have experience in a similar role marketing and a passion for non-profit business and community-building.
The J is Tucson's premiere nonprofit wellness facility and community center. For over 30 years, we have been taking an integrated perspective to wellness, with programs and events that serve people of all ages, abilities, faiths, and identities. We serve more than 5,000 people from all walks of life who come to the J to grow, play, learn, and relax.

We are proud to offer a privately funded preschool serving 300 children during the school year from six weeks to pre-K. Additionally, we offer after-school care for elementary-aged children and provide transportation from over 20 schools daily during the school year.

Responsibilities:
- Elevate and adhere to the Tucson J brand through a deep understanding of the organization's mission, vision, goals, and community using clear, consistent, cohesive written and visual communication
- Work in conjunction with the Sr. Director and marketing team to execute strategic marketing plans for the agency
- Help to ensure the smooth and timely flow of projects and consistent, clear communication with colleague and community stakeholders
- Content development: write and edit a variety of different types of content, including but not limited to program and event descriptions, social media posts, newsletters, video scripts, and internal communications campaigns
- Support in the development and management of the Tucson J's social media content creation, production, scheduling, analytics, and community engagement, working with the team's graphic designer on branded visuals, and acting as a strategic thought-partner to the Director, sharing new ideas and best practices
- Update and maintain internal and external program and event calendars
- Be the J's primary web manager responsible for day-to-day upkeep as well as longer term projects to ensure our website is always current, accurate, relevant, and compelling
- Capture and edit photo and video content, distribute through appropriate channels (may require evening and weekend hours 2-4 times per month) and maintain an organized photo catalogue and archive
- Provide graphic design support
- Develop evaluation tools and metrics to assess the effectiveness of current strategies and methods, and identify areas for improvement
- Maintain effective and friendly working relationships with colleagues, and J members, guests, donors, board members, and community partners as needed
- Flexibility to work some nights and weekends as needed in order to capture marketing content
- 1-3+ years of work in a similar role; College degree in a related field (marketing, business communications, Judaic studies, etc.) preferred
- A keen understanding of integrated marketing communications strategies and tactics and how they come together to provide measurable results
- Highly organized, team-oriented, creative and passionate self-starter able to manage multiple projects, communicate changes and progress, work to deadline, and manage stakeholder needs and expectations
- Excellent written and verbal communicator from one-sentence taglines to longer form stories and articles, and can spot a grammatical error from a mile away
- Experience in social media content creation and strategy and has experience publishing across multiple channels in a variety of formats (Hootsuite or similar scheduling experience preferred; Facebook and Google Ad and/or Google Analytics experience a plus)
- Experience with WordPress or comparable web platform and/or a strong desire to learn these skills (SEO and/or HTML experience a plus)
- Experience in photography and photo editing; may have some experience with video
- Attention to detail and an eye for design
- Experience utilizing project management software/apps like Asana, Trello, Monday.com etc
- Resourceful and efficient in a way that help us achieve our organizational goals with bandwidth and resource constraints; must be able to be nimble and thrive in a fast-paced environment
- Flexibility, adaptability, and level of comfort with ambiguity and fluid priorities
- Can work in a shared office environment
