Job Description
Position Summary
The Creative Director is an inspiring presenter and a senior-level client contact focused on key initiatives that support commercialization and the advancement of all departments across marketing practices at Meris. The Creative Director is a compelling visual storyteller, an expert communicator, and passionate problem solver responsible for all aspects of visual marketing and creative operations overseeing the work of an in-house creative staff as well as relevant contractors and vendors. As a manager and hands-on designer, the Creative Director will ensure the team, including its culture, work environment, tools, capabilities, and processes support the delivery of inspiring, industry-leading creative that helps Meris and their clients achieve their business objectives.
Position Description
Meris is currently looking for an experienced Creative Director to lead the creative process for client planned marketing deliverables. Ideal candidates will have strong character and a passion for advancing business objectives.
Role & Responsibility
- Lead the development of creative strategy and visual expression for all projects, including but not limited to, identity, brand, positioning, message strategy, digital media, traditional media, web, photo, and video.
- Create original concepts, designs, and copy that delivers on strategy, engages audiences, and meets business objectives. Determine the effectiveness of creative work and use learnings to make adjustments to advance future work.
- Manage the flow of creative work and activities between departments. Monitor creative work through all phases of planning, production, and postproduction.
- Lead and inspire the development and readiness of creative staff including but not limited to art directors, graphic designers, web designers, photographers, and videographers. Hire, develop, train, and manage a staff of creative peers to promote best practices, structure, and process
- Effectively promote the overall capabilities of the creative department. Effectively share best practices to benefit the good of clients and the business.
- Manage multiple assignments and team members at one time and adhere to client budget and time constraints. Manage creative cases for the company's advancement towards operational and cultural excellence.
- Review monthly activities with management to meet business objectives.
Qualifications & Requirements
- BA in Visual Communications, Design or related degree
- 20 years experience and a progressive leadership responsibility in a creative agency role
- Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite and progressive leadership responsibility in creative agency role
- Advanced understanding of typography, composition, color theory, and design best practices
- Strong character and design proficiency in a variety of capacities with a devotion to material accuracy
- Strong understanding of general business operations and marketing, a plus

Compensation: Commensurate with Qualifications and Experience
