Civil Science is currently seeking a qualified Design Project Manager to join our Idaho Falls, ID team. We are looking for someone who is passionate, driven, innovative and who will enjoy being involved in the leadership of our successful team. As a Design Project Manager, you will work on diverse transportation related project portfolio including large scale DOT projects. You will work closely with clients, other project managers, firm principals, and support staff to ensure a successful completion for our clients. The key to succeeding in this role will be your ability to lead and coordinate junior staff in roadway modeling in OpenRoad Designer, as well as to ensure timely and cost-effective solutions to demanding project requirements.

Responsibilities as a Design Project Manager:

  • Roadway planning, geometric design, and modeling utilizing Bentley MicroStation OpenRoad Designer (ORD)
  • Know and adhere to various state and federal design specifications and requirements
  • Oversee portions of project deliverable for scope, schedule, and budget
  • Serve as a first line QC review on designs and submittals
  • Support all aspects of project submittals, including utility coordination, environmental mitigation, public involvement, etc.
  • Previous experience with business development and marketing, with the ability to secure projects for the firm
  • Experience writing proposals, contract management, and client liaising
  • History of managing project teams while mentoring a staff of engineers and designers
  • Experience with design process and building client relationships with Idaho Transportation Department (ITD)

Requirements for a Design Project Manager:

  • Must currently hold a Idaho Professional Engineer License or have the ability to gain licensing in Idaho through reciprocity
  • Bachelor's Degree in appropriate engineering discipline
  • A minimum of five years' experience in Civil Engineering or related work
  • Proven technical leadership ability and communication skills to work effectively with other people at all levels
  • Working knowledge of other transportation design related software packages
  • Experience with Idaho Transportation Department design process and specifications
