Senior Data Business Intelligence and Visualization Analyst

Job Summary
This position will work with internal customers and the IT department to gather, document and recommend user requirements and specifications for existing and new financial reports, operational statistics, operational key performance indicators and business processes. Additionally, this position will review and interrogate large amounts of data to determine the characteristics as well as the integrity of the data. The Senior Business Intelligence and Visualization Analyst will also be responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining business intelligence solutions. This role requires a deep understanding of SQL, Power BI, report creation, and data visualization to transform data into actionable insights.
Essential FunctionsDevelops systems and tools for effective data management, visualization and interpretation (systems design, dashboards, information graphics, mapping, Power BI).Builds and deploys processes that ensure timely data-loading that maintains accuracy and relevance of data used within the business.Provides technical assistance and building understanding among partners about the effective use of data.Works with internal clients to identify systems and process solutions that will enable new business opportunities.Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand business requirements and translate them into technical specifications.Advises on new data infrastructure technologies, inclusive of data-warehousing, reporting, and analytics platforms.Learns or has fundamental understanding of current ERP systems.Attends meetings with management to assess business needs.Perform related duties as requested.Education
Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration, Computer Science or Computer Engineering preferred.Experience
Minimum of 4+ years' experience in a data/business analyst position.Experience working in report creation, modeling, and trend forecasting.Strong background in SQL with experience performing administrative tasks on SQL servers.Extensive experience with Power BI for data visualization and report creation.Essential Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
Ability to work with external clients and internal users to develop detailed, clearly written functional specifications for financial reporting/dashboards and for enhancement of existing software.Ability to research, define and analyze business problems.Ability to communicate results of complex analytic findings to both technical and non-technical audiences.Ability to work independently or in a group.Proficient with Windows Operating System, Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Visio, and MS Project.Proficiency in one of the following computer languages SQL, C#, C++, Python or JAVA.Extensive knowledge of data warehousing concepts and ETL processes.Fundamental accounting knowledge is desired.
