Physical Requirements
Sitting for long periods of time; regular use of computer; lifting objects up to 25lbs, pushing a cart up to 50lbs across campus; standing for a couple of hours at a time to table or present at events.
Shift
Mainly Monday-Friday; 8:00 am - 5:00 m; and occasional evenings or weekends depending on events or deadlines.
Job Summary
The College of Communication and Information is looking for a dynamic, energetic Marketing and Promotions Specialist to develop communication materials and assist our Communication Manager with different college-wide initiatives. Preferred skills include excellent written and oral communication, video production and editing, project management, knowledge of AP Style, and the ability to work with a diverse group of people on different initiatives throughout the College.
Other duties include:Write and edit feature articles for the College newsletters, magazines, and UKnow releases per AP StyleProduce digital images to support written messagesCollaborate with other units to ensure comprehensive approachCreate high quality marketing materials that reach appropriate audiences in compliance with University and College marketing policiesWork with leadership and staff to recognize communication opportunities and solutionsDesign and produce graphics/images, short videos, promotions, and general marketing activitiesUpdate College website by adding events, news stories, promotions when applicable

Skills / Knowledge / Abilities
Drupal experience, database software, graphic software programs, and video editing software.

Preferred Education/Experience
Prefer applicant with prior experience writing and editing articles, press releases. Experience developing marketing materials, administering social media, video and graphics production, and editing.
