This position will work in conjunction with the members of the Marketing Department - the Director of Marketing and Public Relations, the Assistant Director of Marketing and Public Relations, and the Webmaster - in support of the planning, development, and execution of college marketing, public relations activities, some event planning, and internal and external college relations.
This position will help promote the HutchCC message, image, and activities in a clear and concise manner to internal and external audiences of the institution and will collaborate with Marketing & Public Relations team members to identify content and design opportunities, execute projects assigned in a professional and timely manner, and will meet timelines.
This position will also assist with designing and generating digital and print marketing materials for a broad range of efforts including internet, mobile devices, social media, search engines, and digital media.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Essential -
Assist in the planning, development, and execution of college marketing and advertising activities and campaigns.Assist in maintaining the College branding, logos, and graphic images both internally and externally.Assist in creating graphic layouts and designs of advertising, marketing collateral, and other published materials in print and online.Assist in the production of internal and external materials such as brochures, press releases, web copy, and executive presentations. Requires excellent written and verbal communication skills.Secondary -
Assist in developing and analyzing key metrics of marketing effectiveness.Coordinate and/or take photos and video related to instructional, programs, events, students, and employees as needed. Edit and produce short promotional videos as needed.Assist in managing content and providing oversight of digital marketing and communications efforts.Assist in managing the social media efforts of the College.Other duties as assigned by the Director.Accept appointments to and participate on committees as assigned.QUALIFICATIONS:
Associate degree required; Bachelor's degree in communications, marketing, journalism, graphic design or public relations preferred.At least 3-5 years prior experience related to marketing, design, and social media.Be comfortable and proficient in Adobe Creative Suite with strong knowledge of InDesign, Illustrator and Photoshop.Ability to prepare and edit materials for all media types including digital, print, video, and audio.Working knowledge of desktop publishing software and online editing tools preferred.This position requires in-person attendance to collaborate with team members, attend meetings, and participate in company events.Possess a willingness to work evenings and/or weekends as needed.Demonstrate good written and verbal communication skills.Be enthusiastic, self-motivated, and team oriented and have the ability to work with little direct supervision.Ability to coordinate complex projects with multiple deadlines and budgets.Possess working knowledge of digital marketing including but not limited to internet, mobile devices, social media, search engines and digital media.Candidate should submit a minimum of three examples of writing and design work.Arrive on time for work, attend work regularly, and successfully complete the responsibilities of the position.Comply with HutchCC policies, practices, and procedures.
SALARY and STATUS:
The salary is commensurate with qualifications as determined by HutchCC Administration. This full-time administrative staff position is 12 months annual, benefit eligible, at-will, salary non-exempt.
