We are seeking an experienced
Designer 1
to join our Outdoor Performance platform team. The Outdoor Performance strategic priorities are to be consumer-first focused, lead with power brands, and invest inwards. We will build the Outdoor Performance business by creating focus and power with the consumer. As one of the power brands in the Outdoor Performance platform, the person in this role will also unite sub-brands to achieve maximum benefit.
The role of a designer in developing apparel products for brands is critical for creating appealing and marketable products. This position involves collaborating with various departments such as marketing, sourcing, materials, manufacturing, quality control, scheduling, and operations to ensure a seamless transition of products into the manufacturing phase. Must understand the principles of design and be able to apply this knowledge to creating aesthetically pleasing, functional product. A key aspect of this role is the capability to lead projects and effectively work within cross-functional teams. By possessing strong leadership skills and the ability to collaborate with diverse teams, the Designer can drive innovation and ensure the successful development of products that align with the brand's vision and market demands.
This position reports to the Product Design Director, of Simms and is based out of our
Bozeman, MT
office.
As the Designer, you'll get the opportunity to:
Produce, maintain and update creative presentations, garment tech packs and product color boards
Research and identify trends (graphics, materials, color) with the ability to apply the information to designs that have mass market appeal
Integrate the latest product and technical developments into design
leverage learning across the Revelyst organization
Assist in creating and manipulating prints and texture fills in Illustrator
Assist in color merchandising across all categories and products
Responsible for maintaining VLPs (Visual Line Plan) and capturing changes throughout entire development lifecycle
Create and revise technical drawings while collaborating with development to ensure tech packs are accurate and workable
Create products that reinforce and strengthen the brand position and help to generate consumer demand.
Facilitate alignment of footwear, apparel and accessories.
Involvement in fittings with a strong knowledge of construction, fit and fabrications (both knit and woven).
Evaluate and select fabrics and trims that highlight the design and seasonal direction
Collaborate with design team to create seasonal graphics and prints
Utilize knowledge of various sewing techniques, design practices, mathematics and other physical sciences to complete designs.
You Have:
Minimum 3 years’ experience in apparel or graphic design
Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in Apparel Design, Creative Design, or related field
Advanced Skills in Adobe Illustrator and Photoshop
Knowledge in color theory and merchandising with ability to strategically apply color to the entire product line
Strong knowledge of garment construction and fit
Excellent conceptual skills with ability to bring stories to life through design
Experience with a wide array of textiles; Cotton to WPB’s
Ability to work cross-functionally with product development, sales and merchandising teams
Comprehensive knowledge of silhouettes, fabrication, color/print usage, graphics, embellishment layouts, and trims
Tremendous attention to detail, and extraordinary time-management skills; ability to adhere to tight timelines and work equally well as a self-starter and team player
Enthusiasm for apparel, high level of creativity, and a deep understanding of current and emerging trends
Flexibility to adapt to a fast paced, changing work environment and a willingness to learn / grow

You Might Have:
Strong graphic design skills
Understanding of the commercialization life cycle and the ability to take initiative within that process
Experience with accessory products for outdoor sports wear and fishing
Experience working in a small design team; hands-on orientation
Pay Range:
Annual Salary: $65,000.00 - $80,000.00
The actual annual salary offered to a candidate will be based on variables including experience, geographic location, education, and skills/achievements, and will be mutually agreed upon at the time of offer.
