FLSA Status: Non-Exempt
Reports to: Advertising Sales Manager
Location: 99% remote!
Compensation: BBB Advertising Sales Representatives typically earn between $45,000 and $100,000 per year, depending on their performance (commissions are uncapped).

So, what does an Ad Sales Representative do, you may ask?
BBB Ad Sales Representatives promote the value of being a Better Business Bureau Accredited Business to numerous business owners daily. Representatives target businesses that demonstrate BBB values and adhere to ethical advertising standards. Representatives are familiar with the small to medium-sized business market, advertising products, and industry norms. As a representative, you educate all qualified BBB Accredited Businesses on BBB products and ensure they are eligible to purchase advertising and other non-dues products. You are responsible for meeting all sales and production objectives. Join our winning team!
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Sells advertising and non-dues products or services to BBB Accredited Businesses in an assigned area or territory
- Creates new accounts and maintains existing accounts
- Contacts new and existing customers or clients to explain the features and merits of products or services
- Demonstrates value proposition of products or services, utilizes persuasive sales techniques, and assists in determining the best application of product or services
- Meets minimum standards for business development activities, including a set of number calls, talk time per day, sales, and retention
- Build relationships and maintain constant communication throughout the year with Accredited Businesses after finalizing sales.
- Collaborates with support departments and staff members on company=wide processes and goals professionally and courteously and is an advocate for and fosters a positive teamwork environment
- Perform tasks as requested by BBB senior leadership team
- Maintains timelines
- Attends BBB staff-related events as needed

- Follow up and provide closure to all requests
- Meet and exceed monthly sales goals
- Meet and exceed department metric goals
Required Skills/Abilities
- Knowledge of office administrative procedures and ability to operate and troubleshoot most standard office equipment
- Highly proficient in MS Office applications (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and have basic computer skills to learn a CRM system
- Excellent communication skills, both verbally (in person and via phone) and written
- High level of interpersonal skills and ability to handle sensitive information and documents and confidentially
- Any equivalent combination of education and experience that provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities
- Minimum one year of proven sales experience
- Demonstrated Outbound Call Center or Telephone Sales experience
- Working knowledge of SEO
- Experience in digital advertising sales
- No nights or weekends!
