Overview:

We are seeking a talented and experienced Lighting Artist to join our game cinematics team. As a vital member of our creative team, you will have the opportunity to work on cutting-edge AAA video games. If you are a passionate lighting artist with a keen eye for detail and a drive for excellence, we want you on our team! This is an on-site role located in Los Angeles, CA.


Responsibilities:

  • Create dynamic and immersive lighting that enhances gameplay and storytelling using industry-standard tools and techniques.
  • Work closely with the CG Supervisor, Art Director, and other artists to develop and implement lighting solutions that enhance cinematics.
  • Optimize lighting and shadowing for optimal performance across various gaming platforms.
  • Troubleshoot technical issues related to lighting in collaboration with other team members.
  • Manage and prioritize tasks to ensure timely delivery of high-quality lighting assets.
  • Stay up-to-date on the latest rendering technologies and lighting techniques relevant to the game industry.
  • Conduct research and experimentation to improve lighting workflows and quality.
  • Demonstrate a strong understanding of lighting in Unreal Engine 5 (UE5) and setup for different scenarios, including performance considerations and gameplay dynamics.

Requirements:

  • 3 to 5 years of experience as a Lighting Artist in the video game industry.
  • Strong portfolio showcasing exceptional skills in lighting, shading, and material creation.
  • Proficiency in Unreal Engine 5 and Lumen, with experience in Houdini.
  • In-depth understanding of rendering pipelines and optimization techniques for real-time rendering engines.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively with various teams.
  • Knowledge of game engine budgets, memory limits, and performance constraints.
