Procedural content creation is your thing. You get excited by saving content creators’ time and speeding up their workflows. You want to use your skills to create bigger and more impressive worlds and are full of ideas how to do so. And you’re half coder and half artist – you get both, you help each understand the other, and you can translate from art to tech and back again, so everyone gets the most out of the tools and knows what to ask for to get awesome art up onto the screen.Responsibilities Lead a team of procedural technical artists in the development and support of procedural tools for digital content creationAccelerate the building of virtual worlds using proceduralism as your toolResearch, define, extend, and maintain procedural production pipelines, processes, and workflowsInterface with stakeholders - liaise between team members; drive collaborative projectsTroubleshoot issues; resolve them: invent or build robust, quality technical implementationsPartner with leads and directors to meet visual and technical standardsWork closely with artists and designers to develop/define procedural systems and improve their workflowsRequirements Minimum 10 years of professional experience in computer-generated artIndustry experience working or shipping AAA titlesExpertise of 3D math fundamentalsExperience in designing or creating world-building toolsetsExpert knowledge of Houdini and best practices in procedural asset creationFamiliar with artist workflows and processesStrong understanding of algorithm design and their inherent complexityProficient scripting/programming experience in Python, PyQT/PySide, VexAbility to write clean, maintainable and extensible code with attention to reusabilityEnthusiasm and initiativeExcellent spoken and written communicationAble and motivated to work with other team membersPreferred Experience Programming experience with C++Expert ability in 3D modelling DCCs such as Maya or equivalentCompensation and Benefits The estimated base pay range for this role is listed below.$170,100 — $255,100 USDIn addition, this role is eligible for SIE’s top-tier benefits package that includes medical, dental, vision, matching 401(k), paid time off, wellness program and coveted employee discounts for Sony products.
