Social Media Intern

The Quad City Steamwheelers are seeking a qualified and enthusiastic individual to join the team as a Social Media Intern for the 2024 season. This position is an internship providing hands-on experience in professional sports. The social media intern will work closely with the front office and
should be available for all home games (8) , along with any additional events assigned throughout the season. The social media interns will report directly to the Creative and Content Director. This summer internship program runs from the beginning of March to August. All interns must be available for each home game, along with any additional events assigned throughout the season. (kids camp, training camp, golf outing, etc.)
Responsibilities Include:
Collaboratively plan, create, and execute content for social media platforms (TikTok, X, Instagram, etc.) during Steamwheelers games by taking photos, video, and more.Work with front office to create a content calendar for all social platforms and then execute and analyze that plan.Assist with creating new and creative graphics, and other multimedia content for use on our digital and social platforms.Share content in game and out of game as it related to the content calendar and beyond to showcase the Steamwheelers organizationAssist with team "media days" and photoshootsAssist with photo and video uploading and organizationHelp promote upcoming games and events on digital and social platformsAttend player/mascot/organization appearances in the community and initiate the gathering of social content at these eventsAssist with stadium set-up and clean up, before and after individual gamesWill be required to work office/stadium hours on non-game days which will include creating a content plan for upcoming events and games (15-20 hours)All other duties as assignedRequired Skills and Qualifications:
Must be a current or recently graduated college student (undergraduate or graduate)Requires ability to work flexible schedule including nights and weekendsHave an enthusiastic, positive attitude and provide a strong effort to succeedMust be a creative thinker and do well in a fast-paced environmentAbility to problem solveMust have knowledge of the flow of a football game (Indoor game will be taught)Comfortable interacting with all levels within organization as well as outside contactsStrong time management and attention to detailsFamiliar with Microsoft Office, Google Docs, and possess excellent written and oral communication skillsCooperation, responsiveness, dependability, and proper attitude in dealing with others including co-workers and customersPreferred Skills and Qualifications:
Graphic Design, Photography, VideographyExperience with Asana and Meta Business Suite
