Emergent Method seeks a student intern to support a wide range of communication, marketing, and general business tasks for firm and its clients. The ideal candidate is a proactive problem solver who is eager to learn, is organized, and able to work in a fast-paced environment and takes pride in developing high-quality deliverables.
This internship is based in Baton Rouge, with flexible working hours and locations. Internship working hours may be during and after business hours, and a blend of in-office and remote work is possible. This role requires the availability to work 20-30 hours (or more, depending on availability) per week.

Key responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Drafting deliverables such as newsletters, press releases, media advisories, and reports
- Creating content for social media and managing a content calendar
- Designing social media graphics and formatting documents and presentations
- Conducting research and maintaining lists, databases, and spreadsheets
- Developing meeting agendas, summaries, and action items
- Collaborating with team members to support various projects and tasks
- Assisting with administrative tasks such as running errands, stocking supplies, and providing general office support as needed
- Providing event support as needed
Qualifications
Qualifications for this position include:- Studying toward a bachelor’s degree in mass communication, journalism, public relations, political communication, English, marketing, or a related field
- Strong written communication skills, including an adept knowledge of AP Style guidelines
- Strong visual communication skills, including an adept knowledge of Canva and Adobe InDesign
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications
- Knowledge of social media platforms, including X, Facebook, LinkedIn, and Nextdoor, and social media trends
- Strong problem-solving and critical thinking skills with a willingness to “roll up your sleeves” to complete tasks
- Effective time management, organizational, interpersonal, and project management skills
- Strong work ethic with a keen attention to detail
- In good academic standing
- Involvement in extracurricular activities with demonstrated leadership experience
- Ability to maintain the strictest confidentiality regarding internal practices, as well as client names, projects, and other information
