Job purpose
Under the direction of the Director of Marketing, the incumbent oversees the advertising functions for Golden Nugget Danville casino. The incumbent is responsible for developing and executing the company’s advertising campaigns to promote awareness and increase guest volume and spend at the casino.
Duties and responsibilities
- Exhibit conduct in accordance with all Illinois Gaming Board (IGB) Rules and Regulations, Federal and State laws and regulations, and Company and departmental policies and procedures.
- Perform the duties and responsibilities associated with the IGB Statewide Voluntary Self-Exclusion Program as described in Section A of this ICS.
- Consistently deliver positive, courteous, and professional guest service in all interactions with guests, visitors, vendors, and fellow employees.
- Initiate, oversee, and receive appropriate approvals for the casino resort’s advertising to promote awareness of the property and increase trial.
- Develop, monitor, and implement marketing and advertising efforts.
- Determine effectiveness of advertising efforts and recommend and implement adjustments as needed.
- Develop media initiatives and manage relations with media and/or media buyers to ensure efficient and effective spend of advertising budget.
- Assess, manage, and evaluate outside advertising agencies and develop and implement strategies for their use.
- Manage the creation and display of all advertising, collateral materials, and in-house audio/video, as well as oversee on-property photo and video shoots.
- Oversee the printing, production, and distribution of advertising and promotional materials. Ensure adherence to graphic standards. Ensure that layouts and mechanicals are proofread for accuracy.
- Manage the development of all print and broadcast media plans. Review and approve television and radio advertisement before release.
- Negotiate contracts with outdoor billboard companies.
- Maintain awareness of changes in the local and regional markets that may impact the effectiveness of advertising planned, recommend, and implement adjustments to strategy as needed.
- Communicate with all department leaders to ensure timely development of creative materials for all campaigns and property promotions.
- Maintains a positive working relationship with all operating departments.
- Analyze customer insights, consumer trends, market analysis, and marketing best practices to build successful strategies.
- Partner with email, performance marketing and web teams to design, test, and evolve lead nurturing tactics.
- Works closely with and assisting the other divisions of the Marketing department (Promotions, Events, Player Development, and Direct Mail) with various projects and initiatives.
- Assists with handling all guest complaint forms, letters, situations, and phone calls.
- Assist soliciting customer service and facility improvements from employees and guests and forwarding accordingly.
- Assist with monitoring all promotional signage and ensuring changeover when appropriate.
- Participating in Marketing meetings.
- Safeguard the confidential information of all employee, department, and company records.
- Promote positive public/employee relations at all times.
- Perform any duties on or off-site involving guest services and quality control including, but not limited to, special events, guest giveaways, crowd control, property cleanliness, and other hospitality functions as needed.
- Demonstrate a commitment to ensuring responsible gaming and responsible alcohol service by discreetly notifying appropriate management of concerns and observations.
- Ensure prompt and discreet notification to management and/or the Ethics Hotline of any observation of illegal acts or internal ethics violations.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- High School Diploma or equivalent required; Bachelor’s Degree in Advertising, Marketing or related field preferred.
- Five or more years of marketing experience within the Casino industry preferred.
- Ability to obtain a gaming license.
- Special training in computer databases, demographics, and production.
- Knowledgeable of advertising, direct marketing, database marketing, social media, traditional and digital media, email marketing, text marketing, entertainment, and special events.
- Understand P&L statement and how his/her actions impact and improve.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Proven experience developing marketing plans and campaigns.
- Strong project management, multitasking, and decision-making skills.
- Metrics-driven marketing mind with eye for creativity.
- Proficiency with online marketing and social media strategy.
- Proven experience designing interactive applications and networking platforms.
- Willingness and ability to travel.
- Established press and media contacts.
- Proficient in PC based computer systems, including Microsoft Office products, Word, Excel, Power Point, Windows, Database applications, spreadsheet development, mainframe applications, etc.
