The Opportunity
We're seeking an experienced Advertising, Marketing & Promotions Associate or Counsel to join one of our esteemed clients. This role offers a unique opportunity to advise businesses across diverse industries on advertising, marketing, and promotional campaigns. You'll contribute your expertise to navigating complex regulatory landscapes while supporting innovative and impactful strategies for a wide range of clients.

What You'll Do

• Advise with Expertise: Provide counsel on advertising, marketing, and promotional campaigns for compliance with state, federal, and international laws.
• Draft and Negotiate: Prepare agreements related to ad agencies, influencers, celebrity endorsements, sponsorships, online media buying, and more.
• Analyze and Review: Ensure ad copy complies with laws regarding false advertising, claim substantiation, intellectual property, and publicity rights.
• Counsel for Compliance: Offer guidance on contests, sweepstakes, price advertising, subscription programs, loyalty/rewards programs, and other marketing initiatives.
• Support Legal Defense: Represent clients in disputes, including false advertising, unfair competition, and National Advertising Division matters.

What You Bring to the Table

• Experience: At least seven years of relevant experience in advertising law, consumer protection law, and marketing transactions.
• Education: J.D. from an accredited law school with strong academic credentials.
• Skills: Exceptional legal writing, communication, and attention to detail.
• Mindset: Collaborative approach with the ability to thrive in both group settings and independently.
• Preferred Qualifications: Experience in a large or medium law firm, hybrid work environment availability, and admission to the Washington State Bar (preferred but not required).

Your Skillset

• Marketing and Advertising Law: Deep understanding of compliance requirements and regulatory frameworks.
• Contract Expertise: Proven ability to draft, review, and negotiate a wide variety of agreements related to marketing and promotions.
• Strategic Counseling: Experience in advising clients on loyalty programs, subscription models, and pricing strategies.
• Dispute Resolution: Knowledge of false advertising, unfair competition, and National Advertising Division procedures.
