Crystal D is hiring: Production Artist/Laser Engraver in Saint Paul

Job Purpose: Produce and assemble products that “turn emotions into memories” for Crystal D customers, as measured by meeting or exceeding Crystal-D’s current production standards. 

Performance

• Accurately follows instructions outlined in Sales Work Orders and POPs.
• Reviews the Production Schedule to improve workflow efficiency.
• Handles products with care to minimize damage.
• Adheres to all Crystal D corporate safety policies and OSHA regulations.
• Operates equipment safely, follows proper procedures, and adheres to preventative maintenance schedules.
• Accurately records production and shipping milestones.
• Follows company procedures for requesting and documenting time off.
• Maintains a high level of accuracy, precision, and attention to detail.
• Completes tasks within the prescribed timeframe.
• Demonstrates adaptability to frequent changes, delays, or unexpected events.

Development

• Achieves 80 or more “green” ratings in designated cross-training areas.
• Communicates ideas, concerns, and recommendations effectively with co-workers.
• Proactively assists in other areas when immediate tasks are completed.
• Takes initiative to correct personal and team errors, learning from mistakes to improve.

Learning

• Utilizes visual management tools effectively to prioritize tasks.
• Continuously seeks ways to enhance productivity.

Work Demands:                                                                         

This position requires moderate work hours beyond the normal workday, based on the demands of the business cycle, customer volume of business, and specific sales efforts underway. It has a high demand for tight deadlines and immediacy in providing solutions and answers. This position entails work of a highly seasonal or cyclical nature. It contains work of a very precise nature. It requires a high level of concentration over an extended period of time.  This position will experience moderate interruption in work flow. Travel is not required.

Knowledge, Education, Experience and/or Certifications:   

• Associate’s in visual design or graphic design or equivalent 
  
  Skills & Abilities:  

• Understands and can-do basic math and measurement 

• Learns tasks and gain expertise to a level that meets production standards 

• Able to problem solve and troubleshoot printer and engraver machines 

• Ability to read English and comprehend simple instructions
   

Physical Demands

This position requires:

• Occasionally (up to 2 hours per day) bending, pushing, pulling, climbing stairs, reaching, lifting and grasping of product weighing 50 or more pounds
• Occasionally (up to 2 hours per day) standing and walking
• Continuous (up to 8 hours per day) sitting, talking, and repetitive motion, hand/wrist movement (keyboarding)
• Sensory requirements: Good eyesight, normal hearing, ability to speak clearly and to be understood in the English language

Work Schedule

This position usually works for eight (8) hours during the period of 7:00 am to 4:00 pm.  However, hours of work are flexible and will fluctuate based on the needs of the business and the customers. The job may require 5-15 hours per week of work beyond the normal work schedule depending on work demands. The work hours can vary depending on customer requirements.
