Job Title: Audio Visual Technician

Job Description

Installation and configuration of Audio Visual systems, including but not limited to conference rooms, digital signage, video conferencing, video walls, sound masking, system controls, and other specialized technologies. Common equipment manufacturers include Shure, Extron, Logitech, Samsung, NEC, LG, Biamp/Cambridge Audio, Atlas IED, Peerless-AV, Chief, Da-Lite, and more. This position will also involve installing copper/fiber structured cabling and working with hand and power tools. Candidates will not be working with 'live wires'.
Responsibilities
  • Install and configure Audio Visual systems such as conference rooms, digital signage, video conferencing, video walls, and sound masking.
  • Work with system controls and other specialized technologies.
  • Install copper/fiber structured cabling.
  • Utilize hand and power tools for installation tasks.
  • Troubleshoot and maintain A/V systems.
  • Ensure all work is performed in accordance with safety standards and client requirements.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
  • Experience with hand and power tools (validated through references)
  • Reliable transportation to work or jobsites (verified through references)
  • Ability to work in a construction environment, including using small ladders, tools, climbing in small spaces, and cleaning work sites

Work Environment

You will be working on construction jobsites where there may be no heating or air conditioning. The team size ranges from 1-4 technicians per job. The dress code includes jeans or work pants and clean, work-appropriate t-shirts or long sleeves. PPE such as hard hats, safety glasses, and high visibility vests will be provided. Typical hours are from 7:30 am to 3:30 pm, with 8-10 hour workdays. Some nights and weekends may be required based on job needs and candidate availability. Projects are primarily located in Dane County.
