Starkey Hearing is hiring a Senior Communications Specialist at our Global Headquarters in Eden Prairie, MN.Are you a creative storyteller with a talent for crafting compelling narratives and building strong relationships? Starkey is seeking a Senior Communication Specialist who will be responsible for executing communications strategies designed to elevate and enhance the Starkey brand, including public/media relations activities, awards submissions, social media, internal and external email communication, and event activations. In this role you will work closely with the Communications Manager to implement communications strategies for Starkey.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Organize and execute public relations activities for professional and consumer audiences
    • Provide strategic thinking and input on public relations activities and work with the Communications Manager to integrate communication strategies across public relations, internal, online and social media avenues
    • Identify compelling stories to increase brand awareness
    • Write and distribute targeted press materials to trade and consumer media
  • Manage Starkey's awards program
    • Research and write nominations for key product, executive and company awards
    • Track placements and manage budget
  • Provide social media strategy and implementation support to communications team
    • Write, edit social posts when needed
    • Collaborate with other Communications professionals on implementation
  • Plan and execute external and internal communications campaigns
    • Write icommunications for intranet and emails
    • Support Communications professionals on posting and distribution
  • Provide proofreading support for all marketing materials as needed
    • Proofread as needed
    • Provide support to Marketing Proofreader when needed
  • Occasional event support
    • Staff some events to capture stories and images
  • Other duties/responsibilities as assigned
JOB REQUIREMENTS

Minimum Education, Certification and Experience Requirements
  • Education
    • 4-year college degree in Public Relations, Communications, Marketing, Business or related field
  • Experience
    • 5-7 years of experience in Public Relations, Communications or Marketing required. Hearing industry experience preferred. Agency experience preferred.
Knowledge / Technical Requirements
  • Knowledge of computer tools required
  • Knowledge of media databases and media monitoring tools preferred
Competencies, Skills & Abilities
  • Excellent written, verbal and presentation skills in English required
  • Willingness to immerse in hearing aid industry
  • Team player
  • Ability to organize and execute plans efficiently
