What you need to be successfulAs an AAC Specialist at Boothby Therapy Services, candidates must possess a Master's degree in speech-language pathology, complemented by a Certificate of Clinical Competence from the American Speech-Language Hearing Association. A wealth of experience in conducting AAC evaluations across various systems, including alternative access methods, is essential for success in this role. Proficiency in implementing AAC strategies across diverse settings is vital to ensure effective communication for children. Additionally, candidates should excel in completing comprehensive reports for funding and training adults as communication partners, thereby fostering collaboration and empowerment. It is also crucial for applicants to hold or be prepared to obtain an SLP license for the states of New Hampshire and Vermont, given that this position is close to the border of both states.
