We’re looking for an amazing Director, Brand Content & Partnerships to join our team. This is a hybrid role and can be based in either Seattle, WA or Miami, FL. Reporting directly to the Chief Marketing Officer and overseeing a team of four direct reports, along with several external agencies, the Director, Brand Content & Partnerships is a pivotal role within the Marketing and North America Sales department at Holland America Line (HAL). This position is essential for driving brand innovation, enhancing consumer engagement, and achieving strategic marketing goals through effective content and partnership strategies. You'll be responsible for leading all social media, content marketing, product marketing, influencer/creator, affiliate, and brand partnerships. To succeed, you'll need to work closely with various internal stakeholders, including Onboard Revenue, Onboard Experience, Food & Beverage, Entertainment, Revenue Management, and Deployment, to ensure alignment and successful execution of marketing strategies. Here’s a summary of what Holland America Line is looking for in its Director, Brand Content & Partnerships. Is this you? Responsibilities Own the brand partnerships strategy, roadmap & all partnership planning and execution. Drive significant brand innovation and differentiation through partnerships that enhances the experience, drives earned media value and give Holland America access to rich and relevant sources of prospective guests. Lead the relationships and serve as strategic point person between the organization and critical brand partners such as PPA, AARP, ASMI, etc. Engage and build strategic relationships with commercial and onboard leadership to align with partner goals and strategy as well as support implementation that achieves our revenue, brand and experience goals. Create strong brand narratives and craft compelling differentiated stories that drive competitive advantage and get credit for the amazing things our teams are doing across all areas of the organization. Be our in-house Social Media SME with a deep understanding of Content Marketing (social media, blog, influencer, affiliate, PR, etc.). Lead all content planning & execution across channels, aligned to, and in support of, the larger marketing calendar. Lead and train teams to maximize content opportunities for storytelling and ensure social media best practices. Drive differentiation – grounded in consumer insights & data - create brand moments, position our products, innovate ideas and develop opportunities to grow the business and brand. Develop key messaging, position products and innovate claims for our brand. Bring consistent evolution, not just revolution, to the business. Lead improvement efforts for our storytelling by working collaboratively across the organization to identify opportunities, translate business needs into content objectives, and receive credit for our cross-functional brand initiatives. Exploit areas of differentiation & competitive advantage that will innovate the business. Lead a dynamic team to develop and execute innovative multi-channel campaigns that enhance our brand visibility and engage our diverse audiences. Develop and execute comprehensive product marketing including brand differentiation, key messaging, claims, itineraries, etc each seasonal rollout to Trade & Direct to Consumer. Use guest insights to craft bold, relevant and opportunity-driven messaging that differentiates our product as well as our brand. Collaborate closely with Marketing & Commercial leadership to shape the content calendar, ensuring that our content resonates deeply with relevant cultural trends and transformative brand messages. Collaborate cross-functionally to align on launch calendar, marketing messages, and creative approach including Direct & Indirect Sales, PR, Onboard Experience, International, and more. Drive strategy, budget, and execution of content marketing across multiple forms of media. Control the deployment of agency and internal resources for social media, content marketing platforms, and content development to deliver lead-generation and brand awareness in both trade & consumer markets. Oversee multi-million dollar agency and internal resources for brand partnerships across the organization to extend consumer reach and align onboard experience to the brand pillars globally as well as select regional initiatives including company-wide launches of new seasonal products to drive bookings earlier in the booking curve & recognize revenue sooner. Ensure compliance of all Brand Content and Partnerships policies and procedures, while adhering to all laws and regulations including GDPR and SOX requirements. Drive the company’s profitability assessment of brand content by making recommendations and implementing initiatives to improve the performance of social media and media content. Requirements Bachelor’s Degree in Marketing, Business or a related field required. At least 12-15 years of experience in Social Media & Content Marketing at consumer-focused companies or agencies. Must have led a department with multiple direct reports for a Fortune 500, preferably a public company. Brand management experience a plus. At least 4 years building relationships with 3rd party brands – collaborations, partnerships, distribution, etc. paid or organic – delivering against growth metrics. Expert at social media & Content Marketing for Consumer brands. Excellent understanding of brand metrics and how to drive performance against those. Analytical savvy with ability to evaluate partnerships, content and activations across several quantitative axes. Creative conceptor that excels at identifying & generating big ideas from our consumer data/insights. Outstanding at innovating the brand with the ability to generate concepts outside of traditional marketing boundaries. Exceptional at message crafting, brand differentiation and capturing white space to exploit competitive advantage. Critical ability to build rapport and establish strong working relationships across the organization internally as well as externally. Proven working experience leading large scale campaigns & company-wide initiatives for a brand. Must be willing to travel frequently and work nights and weekends for activations and events. Agile and willing to build new processes for a nascent business function. An excellent communicator and team player who embodies the company’s culture in his/her daily work. Ability to proactively collaborate across operating units and with colleagues from all disciplines within the company. Must be legally authorized to work in the United States. The range is applicable for the labor market where the role is intended to be hired. Final base salary is directly related to each candidates' qualifications and experience uniquely.
