We amplify our collective impact by celebrating different perspectives and embracing inclusion.StructureThe Digital Content Specialist is an exempt (salaried) position employed by the University of Cincinnati Foundation (UCF) and reports to the Executive Director, Strategic Communications.FocusThe Digital Content Specialist co-creates and implements digital communications strategy for the UC Foundation in its support of initiatives for the University of Cincinnati (UC) and UC Health (UCH). The specialist plans and manages content and updates for UCF’s website and donor-focused emails, and is an expert in digital communication, who cares deeply about the digital user experience and has knowledge of how to optimize various digital content platforms. This position is part of the Strategic Communications team, comprised of writers, designers and a UI/UX web developer.Specific DutiesWorks with writing team to deploy content and adhere to co-created content strategy and calendar.Plans and manages UCF’s website content, ensuring regular updates through the development and implementation of an online content calendar.Collaborates with writers and designers on monthly updates for the homepage and assists with deployment of the editorial calendar for foundation.uc.edu.Enhances site navigation and content, optimizing writing for web headlines, subheads for higher impact and creating pages that are interactive and user-friendly.Translates long-form content and print collateral into an online experience that adheres to industry best practices.Ensures testing of page updates inside of Blackbaud Internet Solutions (BBIS) staging and implements deployment of updated pages in production.Manages online giving forms, registration pages and UCF’s YouTube channel.Partners across the UCF to ensure submitted content (registration pages, emails, web content) adheres to best writing practices, branding and style standards.Works closely with writers to coordinate social media and video content to be shared and amplified across UC, UCH, UCAAConducts quarterly audits of all website pages, including creating a documented process, utilizing best practices and protocols to remove expired pages and coordinate with designers, writers and development teams to update pages appropriately.Works with the UI/UX web developer and team members across UCF to create and implement solutions for special partner requests including fundraising pages and microsites.Coordinates with editorial team on multi-channel communications strategy for news releases, event promotions and philanthropic impact stories across print, video, and online outlets.Manages UCF donor-focused emails, ensuring all incoming UCF email requests and email distributions follow UCF email policy.Collaborates with the Director of Digital Marketing to design responsive email templates, create consistency and align messaging and calls to action, maintain email distribution calendar, and conduct audits of all emails distributed through UCF’s system.Maintains documentation and provides training on UCF donor email communications for current and new team members, including policy, how-to guide, best practices, and accessibility requirements.Reports quarterly on website and donor email analytics, sharing data with Strategic Communications teammates and partners across the organization.Reviews and updates HTML files in BeePro software, and seeks feedback/approval, before exporting HTML out of BeePro and uploading code into the BBIS email system. Sends final tests prior to distribution via BBIS.Attends bi-weekly BBIS service pack upgrade meetings. Completes testing protocols assigned to the Strategic Communications team and serves as representative in change management group, as assigned.Other duties, as assigned.Requirements Bachelor’s degree in marketing, electronic media, communications or a related field and 3-5 years of relevant experience, or advanced degree with 2-3 years of experience.Has a solid understanding of HTML and is capable of developing a comprehensive understanding of our systems, including Blackbaud Internet Solutions (BBIS) and CRM along with content management systems and related communications software tools. Direct experience with BBIS (Blackbaud) and CMS/Adobe CQ5 a plus.Solid background as a website strategist. Proven skills for website development including content strategy development, project management, planning, writing, editing, and publishing.Experience maintaining a web/social brand and presence in higher education and/or a non-profit organization a plus.Proficiency with MS Office, Google Analytics, HTML, CSS, Adobe Acrobat & Photoshop. Experience with QR code and Issuu software a plus.Strong understanding of SEO, website architecture and industry trends.Creative thinker with a proactive approach to problem-solving.Team player with a collaborative mindset. Up to date with the latest trends and best practices in digital communication and site analytics and data reporting.Strong oral presentation and written communication skills with strong proofreading, spelling, and grammar skills. Knowledge and application of AP style guidelines.Strong analytical skills and data-driven thinking.Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines effectively. Strong time management and organizational skills.What We OfferThe anticipated starting salary range for the Digital Content Specialist role is $60,000-$70,000 annually.
