Role:  Accounting Sr. Manager/Director, Studio Content

Compensation: Base Salary ($150K-$190K) + Target Bonus (15%)

We are seeking a Sr. Manager/Director of Accounting who will be integral to our studio content business. The ideal candidate will bring substantial expertise in film and television accounting and have experience in managing and mentoring teams. With strong knowledge of U.S. GAAP and experience working in a global business, the candidate will ensure accurate financial reporting, compliance, and drive process improvements. This role will play a crucial role in managing our produced and acquired IP and will collaborate cross-functionally with the production finance and financial planning & analysis teams.

To excel in this role, the candidate must possess a strong foundation in accounting, preferably with Big 4 or public accounting experience. They will also bring exceptional communication and organizational skills to handle month-end and quarter-end close activities efficiently. Role Responsibilities:

Financial Reporting and Compliance

  • Support the Company’s monthly and quarterly financial close process for the Television and Film business, including review of journal entries, account reconciliations, and analysis of results, ensuring compliance with US GAAP.

  • Review results and journal entries for the consolidation of our strategic investments, including analysis of statutory to US GAAP and IFRS adjustments.

  • Prepare and review schedules, reporting packages, and fluctuation analysis of balance sheet and income statement accounts for management review.

  • Support the quarterly review and annual financial statement audit, including liaising with external auditors, managing the preparation and review of PBC schedules and financial statement footnotes.

  • Establish, monitor, and maintain strong internal controls, ensuring compliance with Korean SOX.

Process Improvement and Efficiency

  • Proactively drive efficient accounting processes through thoughtful re-design and automation to simplify, standardize and reduce the time to close while maintaining accuracy and integrity and ensuring a balanced workload across the team.

  • Collaborate cross-functionally with other finance team members and the business to drive improvements to processes and controls.

Team Development and Management

  • Develop, manage, and mentor a diverse accounting team to build a strong bench of talent and support career development, mobility, and progression.

  • Lead various ad-hoc projects as required, including the design of end-to-end processes and working directly with IT to test and implement system improvements.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's Degree in accounting or finance, required.

  • Certified Public Accountant license, required.

  • 7+ years of accounting experience and at least 3 years in public accounting, Big 4 or similar, preferred.

  • Film accounting (ASC 926) and revenue recognition (ASC 606) experience, required.

  • Experience managing a direct report, required.

  • Strong working knowledge and experience with U.S. GAAP.

  • Strong computer skills including Microsoft Excel, SAP S4HANA, AOE, or other similar financial systems.

  • Strong time-management skills, ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously in a fast-paced environment with tight deadlines.

  • Strong leader and persuasive communicator with a vision, proven ability to self-motivate, work independently and collaboratively, and motivate and inspire a team.

  • Experience in public companies facing rapid growth, preferred
