Job Description
The Ohio Patrolmen's Benevolent Association (OPBA) is a labor union representing 8,000 police officers, sheriff's deputies, correctional officers, safety service dispatchers, and other law enforcement employees in Ohio. The OPBA protects, aids, and educates its members in all aspects of labor relations.
The Video and Social Media Content Creator will have a unique opportunity to manage the OPBA's email, Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, and other media channels. In addition, the Video and Social Media Content Creator will also be responsible for assembling and manipulating video footage, applying editing techniques, and creating finished, broadcast- worthy content that accurately reflects the OPBA's mission and core values.
This is a multi- faceted role, perfect for someone who has strong creation and editing skills along with the ability to manage a variety of social media channels. Candidates should have expert knowledge of modern video editing techniques, be able to visualize creative concepts, and work according to a strict time schedule when videos or other social media content must be shared on a moment's notice. Digital image editing may also be required.
The video and Social Media Content Creator reports to the Executive Director but must work closely with an in-house team of attorneys and business agents to develop engaging content for the OPBA's members throughout Ohio.
Qualifications and skills:
1 to 3 years video and image editing
A portfolio with samples of completed work
some union or campaign organizing experience but not required
Bachelor's degree in Film, Media, Marketing, or similar field.
Video and image capturing experience, with high- level knowledge of Adobe Premier Pro or similar software.
Strong knowledge of Facebook, Twitter and Instagram content publishing.
Some Facebook Ads experience preferred, but not required.
Meticulous attention to detail.
Ability to travel with the Executive Director, Chief Legal Counsel, or other legal team members to various hearings, meetings, or events to capture both A and B roll content.
