The Choice is seeking a Digital Content Coordinator for our client, a renowned non-profit organization dedicated to conservation and national parks, to join their communications team on an urgent, temporary basis until at least March 2025 with a potential for an extension or permanent role. This role is an excellent opportunity for professionals with experience in content creation, digital strategy, and website management who thrive in a collaborative environment with tight deadlines.
In this role, you will assist with developing, editing, and publishing content across multiple digital platforms while ensuring the organization’s voice is consistent and aligned with its mission. This is a hybrid role, requiring candidates to work 2 days per week on-site in the DC Metro area and 3 days remotely.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and publish stories, updates, and posts for the organization’s digital platforms, including websites and social media.
- Edit and proofread copy, headlines, and reports from internal departments to maintain high-quality content.
- Audit and update existing website content to ensure accuracy and relevancy.
- Track content development tasks to ensure smooth project workflows, managing intake and confirming completion.
- Maintain and support the organization’s digital properties, focusing on the website and online networks.
- Collaborate with internal teams and external partners to meet project deadlines.
- Assist with implementing communications and marketing strategies to elevate the visibility of the organization’s work across digital platforms.
The Ideal Candidate Will Have:
- Excellent communication skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively.
- Strong time management, organizational, and multitasking abilities to handle multiple deadlines.
- A detail-oriented and proactive mindset to thrive under tight timelines.
- Experience working with content management systems (such as Drupal, WordPress; experience with Craft CMS is a plus).
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, Apple iWork, and Google Docs.
- Familiarity with social media content best practices for platforms like YouTube, Facebook, Instagram, and Twitter/X is a plus.
Salary: $27-30/hr
