Role Overview
The Chief Creative Officer is a key agency leader, and Atlanta-based, pivotal in shaping the agency’s creative vision, ensuring it aligns with client objectives, brand values and resonates with target audiences. The Chief Creative Officer is responsible for overseeing the ideation and development process of all creative concepts for various events, films, and campaigns, ensuring they are unique, engaging, on-time and on-budget, and aligned with client goals, brand guidelines, values, messaging and more. With a commitment to exceptional leadership, the Chief Creative Officer manages the creative services and production teams, ensuring talent development and a collaborative environment. The Chief Creative Officer drives business growth for PullSpark, aligning all departments, strategies, and initiatives to the long-term goals of the organization. The C-Suite employee is responsible for cultivating a culture of innovation, growth, and excellence, ensuring the company's mission, vision, and values are consistently realized across every level.
Key Accountabilities
● Creative Innovation
○ Develop and communicate the overall creative direction for the agency, ensuring it reflects the brand’s values and resonates with target audiences.
○ Oversee the ideation and development of creative concepts for various events,
films, and campaigns, ensuring they are unique, engaging, and aligned with the
client’s goals.
○ Responsible for innovation against clients needs, committing themself to historical
and current research, competitors' research, and the market to establish the
proper creative strategy.
○ Take a strategic lead in identifying and unlocking growth opportunities through
additional creative ideas within partnerships, driving client growth.
○ Drive creative excellence across all client projects, from conception to execution,
ensuring a cohesive and high-quality output.
○ Collaborate with other departments to ensure creative concepts are executable and aligned with operational capabilities.
○ Stay informed of industry trends, emerging technologies, and best practices in
events and communications to keep the agency at the forefront of innovation.
● Leadership
○ Lead multidisciplinary creative and production teams, driving innovation and
fostering a culture of creativity, while ensuring the agency delivers on-time
and on-budget measurable outcomes.
○ Advisor for teams, agency, and clients, responsible for predicting with team needs and organizational structure.
○ Work closely with clients to understand their needs and objectives, translating
them into compelling creative concepts.
○ Work within budget constraints to deliver creative solutions that maximize impact
while ensuring cost-effectiveness.
○ As a senior leader, collaborate closely with the CEO and other C-suite
executives to develop the agency's strategic goals and maintain competitive edge in the market.
● Measurement
○ Accountable for meeting the department KPIs that support the overall company's
goals and vision.
○ Assess the success of creative campaigns and events, using metrics and feedback
to refine future strategies and approaches.
○ Develop recommendations for tools to support measurement goals.
● Client Satisfaction
○ Responsible for all client satisfaction of the creative.
○ Ensure consistency in brand messaging and visual identity across all projects,
maintaining high standards of quality.
Core Responsibilities Include
Leading the Creative Team
● Strategic Communication: CCO ensures all communication is focused on
achieving both creative excellence and measurable business outcomes, while fostering
transparency and collaboration across departments.
● Leadership: Chief Creative Officer is responsible for guiding, inspiring, and managing
the creative team, ensuring the team works collaboratively to achieve the agency's
goals. This involves setting a clear creative vision, fostering an environment of innovation,
and ensuring the team delivers high-quality work that aligns with client objectives.
Leadership here also involves mentoring, providing feedback, and ensuring the team
remains motivated and productive.
● Team Structure: Responsible for current team structure and new department structure as
the business expands.
● Hiring / Dismissal / Promotions: CCO is accountable for predicting what positions
will be needed and fulfilling open rolls with qualified people while also leading any dismissal plans and promotions of employees.
● Development: To create opportunities for the creative team to expand their skill set, grow
their innovation and increase their knowledge, as it pertains to the business products.
● Problem Resolution: Actively address any potential roadblocks, internal issues, or project
delays, collaborating with the Director of Accounts to find solutions if projects exceed
budgets.
● Business Development: Lead out on all spec work for business development being a key
influence on winning new business.
Developing Creative Concepts
● Excellence: CCO sets the tone for what constitutes creative excellence within the
agency, ensuring all work not only meets but exceeds client expectations. This vision
influences how the team approaches projects, ensuring a high standard of innovation and
impact.
● Subject Matter Expert: CCO is responsible for being an SME in all service offerings of the
agency.
● Knowledge: Stay at the forefront of industry trends, emerging technologies, and new
creative platforms to keep the agency competitive.
● Strategy: Champion and create based on the use of data-driven insights and technology
in the creative process to enhance performance and results.
● Client Brand Expertise: Be a subject matter expert on each client’s brand, ensuring all
deliverables are aligned with their expectations, reviewing key materials to maintain
brand consistency.
● Decision-making & Communication: Act as client’s representative in decision-making,
ensuring the project team is fully informed of all communications and project developments.
● Growth Focus: Continuously seek opportunities to expand client’s scope of work with
PullSpark, identifying additional products or services that align with their needs and
objectives.
Cross Departmental
● Client Relationship Insight: Collaborate with account teams and clients to understand
business objectives and translate them into creative solutions that drive success. Present
creative work to clients, articulating how it meets business objectives and offering
strategic insights. Initiate and lead vision-casting sessions with clients to explore
innovative ideas and collaborative opportunities, emphasizing strategic foresight and
creative thinking.
● Creative Briefs & Decks: Fulfill creative briefs before handing them to the creative
executors. Create pitch slides as necessary.
● Budget Oversight: Ensure the creative services and production team have clear
understanding of budget impacts and ability to create within the client’s budget.
● Workflow Understanding: Maintain a deep understanding of the organization’s workflow
and key stakeholders to ensure seamless project execution and identify potential growth
opportunities.
Leadership and Culture
● Culture: Support the CEO in fostering a leadership culture that promotes creativity,
innovation, and collaboration within the creative services and production team.
● Risk: Encourage risk-taking and creative experimentation within the team, helping them
push boundaries while staying focused on client outcomes.
● Values: Lead by example in upholding PullSpark’s core values, ensuring the
team consistently embodies the agency’s culture of excellence and innovation.
Company Direction and Development
● Agency Vision: Collaborate with CEO and C-suite executives to influence the
agency’s strategic direction, helping to shape PullSpark’s growth trajectory, culture, and
long-term vision.
● Agency Brand: Lead efforts to define and maintain PullSpark’s internal brand identity and
values, ensuring both employees and clients understand and resonate with the
agency’s mission and vision.
● Revenue: Direct creative initiatives that have a clear impact on the agency’s bottom line,
ensuring creative output not only meets but exceeds client expectations and drives
financial growth.
● Scale: Implement processes within the creative services/production team that
allow for scalable growth as company expands, ensuring the agency can handle larger, more complex projects without sacrificing quality.
● Talent: Lead recruitment and development of top-tier creative talent, ensuring
PullSpark continues to be an innovative leader in the industry by investing in its people.
