ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

  • Hardware Design: Design and develop hardware components and systems, including schematics, PCB layouts, and component selection.
  • Prototyping: Create and test prototypes to validate designs, iterating based on performance, reliability, and manufacturability
  • Documentation: Develop detailed design documentation, including specifications, test plans, and user manuals.
  • Testing & Validation: Conduct rigorous testing and pre-compliance validation of hardware designs to ensure compliance with industry standards and requirements.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work closely with software engineers, mechanical engineers, and other stakeholders to integrate hardware with software and mechanical systems via design reviews, DFM studies and FMEA analysis.
  • Problem-Solving: Identify and resolve hardware design issues, performing root cause analysis and implementing corrective actions.
  • Project Management: Manage multiple projects simultaneously, ensuring timely delivery and adherence to project requirements and deadlines.
  • Innovation: Stay current with industry trends and emerging technologies, integrating new techniques and materials into hardware designs.
  • Compliance: Ensure that hardware designs comply with relevant safety, regulatory, and environmental standards.
REQUIRED EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE
  • Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering, Electronics Engineering, or a related field. Master's degree is a plus.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in hardware design engineering, with a strong portfolio of completed projects.
  • Proficiency in hardware design tools and software, such as Altium Designer, Cadence, or OrCAD.
  • Experience with PCB design, analog and digital circuit design, and embedded systems.
  • Strong understanding of hardware testing and validation methods, including oscilloscopes, logic analyzers, and other measurement tools.
  • Proven ability to work collaboratively in a team environment and communicate effectively with cross-functional teams.
  • Experience with regulatory standards and compliance (e.g. UL, FCC, CE, RoHS) is a plus.

Ability to read, speak and write in English. To analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations; to write reports and business correspondence; to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers and the general public. Be a great communicator and listener.

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS

Basic math skills will be required to add, subtract, multiply and divide. Basic understanding of & ability to read performance graphs.

REASONING ABILITY

Able to understand and determine product quality to written documentation.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

While performing the duties of this position, employee is frequently required to sit; stand; walk; use hands to type, handle, or feel; and reach with hands and arms. Employee is occasionally required to stoop, kneel, or crouch. Employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds. Vision requirements include close & distant vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.
