Position Overview

This team member will serve as an individual contributor on the R&D team, focused on the design, development, and test of the electronics in low power wearable medical devices for infusion pump systems. They will support various engineering teams as necessary, including R&D, Lifecycle Engineering, and Advanced Technologies groups. Execution to schedule with high quality deliverables is key to success.

Responsibilities

  • Create and optimize PCB layouts using Cadence PCB Editor, ensuring compliance with design specifications and industry standards
  • Develop and maintain CAD libraries, including symbols, footprints, 3D models, and PCB keepouts, to support efficient design processes
  • Following, maintaining, and continuous improvement of the PCB design process and cadence of work with the engineering team
  • Generate and release comprehensive design documentation, including bill of materials, assembly drawings, and fabrication files, to facilitate manufacturing and assembly
  • Collaborate with PCB suppliers to ensure design for manufacturability (DFM) and design for assembly (DFA), including definition of in-CAD design rules and error resolution
  • Support of the PCBA prototype procurement process
  • Work closely with electrical engineers, mechanical engineers, and other team members to ensure seamless integration of PCB designs into final products
  • Participate in design reviews, providing feedback and recommendations to improve design quality and performance
  • Stay updated with the latest industry trends, tools, standards and best practices to continuously enhance design processes and outcomes
  • Performs other duties as required
Required Skills and Competencies
  • Strong written, verbal, analytical, and interpersonal skills
  • Demonstrates acceptance of responsibility; shows pride in work performed
  • Demonstrates flexibility in acceptance of assignments and schedules
  • Proficient in CAD software for circuit design (Cadence OrCAD PCB Editor preferred)
  • Strong understanding of PCB design principles, signal integrity, EMI/EMC considerations, and manufacturing processes
  • Experience with design for PCB manufacturability in a high-volume environment, e.g. IPC standards and guidelines such as IPC 7351
  • Demonstrates knowledge of mixed signal PCB design and ground optimization; High-speed digital and RF PCB design is a plus
Education and Experience
  • Relevant Associates/Bachelor's Degree and at least 8/6 years of relevant experience
Additional Information
  • The position is eligible for hybrid working arrangements, and requires on-site work at our Acton, Massachusetts headquarters at least 3 days per week.


Additional Information:
The US base salary range for this full-time position is $94,955.00 - $142,432.25. Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. The range displayed on each job posting reflects the minimum and maximum target for new hire salaries for the position in the primary work location in the US. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.
