Cornell Architecture Design Teaching Fellowship Department of Architecture, College of Architecture, Art, and Planning (AAP), Cornell UniversityThe Department of Architecture at Cornell University is launching a search for two to four part-time Design Teaching Fellowship positions for instruction and research/creative practice, to begin August 12, 2024.Fellowship DetailsThe Fellowship is a nine-month position (renewable for up to two academic years) within Cornell University’s College of Architecture, Art, and Planning in Ithaca, NY, at the rank of Instructor .Each fellowship centers on teaching in the first-year undergraduate architectural design program, alongside teaching mentors, within an established Teaching Mentorship framework. In addition to design studio teaching, Fellows will have the opportunity to teach one elective seminar that facilitates exploration into the Fellow’s research/creative practice trajectory, and to have one semester free from teaching a second class, to focus on developing their research/creative practice independently, culminating in an exhibition and/or public presentation.Fellowships are intended to support the teaching and research/creative practice of exceptional emerging designers/architects (ideally 2+ years after completion of their undergraduate education). Candidates should propose a research/creative project to be shaped and developed during their year, while also considering potential interfaces with foundational design pedagogy. Cornell Architecture welcomes innovative transdisciplinary thinking that expands the scope and potential of contemporary architecture and its practice.A professional degree in architecture is considered a necessity for this position (B.Arch or M.Arch). Responsibilities will include teaching at undergraduate levels, research, advising, and service.
