Senior Interior Designer
An excellent architectural & interior design firm in the Greater Philadelphia area just minutes from the city is actively in search of an experienced Senior Interior Designer.
The Senior Interior Designer, you will provide interior design services to clients on a diverse variety of project types & sizes (commercial, healthcare, medical, academic & higher education, hotels, restaurants, theaters, museums, corporate offices), just to name a few!
Position Responsibilities Include:
- Utilizes knowledge of furniture, fixture and equipment, architectural/interior finishes, lighting, art, signage, color, and materials to carry out design intent.
- Desired skills include relevant interior design project experience, project management, rendering and drafting, AutoCAD, SketchUp, attention to detail, effective & professional communication, quality control, planning & analysis, budget management, procurement, creative thinking
- Proficiency in creating and drafting interior drawings for construction/coordination in all phases of design from concept design, schematic design, design development and construction documents; including floor and finish plans, RCPs, elevations, details, and finish/fixture/lighting schedules
- Sketchup modeling and rendering experience
- Keeps well connected with manufacturers and the design industry to ensure access to the newest and most innovative products and services available.
- Responsible for conceptual design excellence; initiates project design concepts & idea discussions and provides guidance to design teams during project design development
- Drive assigned projects, conceive, and execute design based on client vision, project requirements, budget, schedule, and site capacity
- Prepare and deliver design presentations to clients and drive project work to achieve design goals.
- Must be able to source and specify material finishes, furniture and fabrics and possess a working knowledge of current trends.
- Experience creating Furniture, Fixtures, and Equipment (FF&E) specifications, the procurement process and ability to develop furniture budgets.
- Conceptual design ability and creativity in problem solving.
- Ability to communicate effectively and professionally with clients, project consultants, custom fabricators, and vendors both verbally and in writing.
- Work closely with clients on projects through all phases of schematic design, design development, and construction documentation.
- Expertise in efficient space planning while incorporating building codes, accessibility codes, best practices, and current trends
- Project budgets, work plan/hours estimate, project scheduling.
- Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously in various design phases in a collaborative team environment.
General Qualifications:
- Associates or Bachelor of Interior Design or Interior Architecture
- Approximately eight (8) + years of professional design experience
- NCIDQ, LEED certifications a plus but not required
- Proficiency in AutoCAD, Sketch-Up, Revit, Microsoft Word & Excel
