We are seeking a Mechanical Designer with experience in HVAC, plumbing and Fire Protection design in the Commercial, Healthcare, and Education industries. Responsibilities include those required to deliver quality service on schedule and within budget in a team environment. Responsibilities: Applies intensive and diversified knowledge of engineering principles and practices for building systems design for HVAC, plumbing, and fire protection systems design in the Commercial, Healthcare, and Education industries. Interprets, organizes, executes, and coordinates assignments with the overall responsibility for budget and schedule adherence, quality control and inter-discipline coordination. Responsible for creating, influencing, and finalizing designs involving domestic piping, plumbing, chillers, boilers, HVAC ducting, exhaust, sanitary, fire protection systems and possibly other mechanical building systems. Will work with the design team, Engineers, Project Managers, and other stakeholders on specific assigned objectives, complex features, and aid in deriving possible solutions to unusual problems. Coordinates with the project engineer for design guidance as required. Produces plans and specifications. Coordinate needs, designs, and develops an understanding with other design disciplines (Electrical, Structural, Civil, Architectural, etc.) for design package needs. Perform field verifications / site walks to identify, verify, resolve, and incorporate solutions into design packages. May troubleshoot design problems in the field during construction. Completes design work on engineering/architectural projects ranging from small to large scope. Serves as a job captain on single discipline projects. May devise new approaches and solutions to problems encountered and communicate them to the team. May represent the firm in meetings and conferences to resolve important questions and to plan and coordinate a project. Reviews project construction submittals for conformance with the contract documents. Performs construction site visits for status reports and punch list reports. Travel required. Valid driver's license required. May be waived for international assignments.QualificationsCertified Plumbing Designer preferred Experience using Carrier HAPS for building load analysis is preferred. Experience with domestic cold and hot water, sanitary and vent, design. Experience with Fire Protection design (wet, dry, clean agent, etc.). Experience with compressed air design. Experience with medical gas design. Proficiency in REVIT required. Experience with Autodesk Construction Cloud (ACC) preferred. Experience working with AutoCAD is required. Experience with Navisworks, PIPE-FLO or similar hydraulic modeling software is a plus.
