Responsible for working closely with other engineering, design, estimating, and construction team members to coordinate overall design package and requirements.RESPONSIBILITIESProvide CADD/Designer support for proposals, estimating, procurement, construction and design change scoping packages in support of the engineering processPrepare, provide guidance, or assist in preparing and developing the engineering drawings and deliverables for energy storage projects with engineering oversightOne line and three line diagramsCable/Conduit SchedulesPlan, profile and physical electrical and/or civil arrangement drawingsBill of materialsMaintain a variety of related records, databases and reportsProvide technical drafting support in the creation of construction drawing setsCompile engineering data from drawings or field notesPerform arithmetic computations using specified formulasProvide direction and guidance to other drafters and designersEnsure design schedules are met including regularly providing project status updates to Project EngineerEffectively plan, organize, schedule and monitor work activitiesThoroughly and accurately develop correspondence, documentation and sketchesConduct project detailed designs aligned with our customer requirements and Mortenson's best practice standardsLearn and follow company and client drawing standards and proceduresPrepare design packages by developing the design requirements with the engineer and coordinating integration of other design groups input into the final documents.Coordinate with other engineering disciplines and Design Phase Managers to successfully deliver design projectsRevise existing drawings and prepare new drawings of basic components from explicit verbal or written instructions or detailed sketchesUtilize technical understanding of high voltage design principles to provide design leadership and innovationPerform a broad scope of Designer assignments of moderate difficulty and CADD assignments of high difficultyEffectively work and build relationships with those of diverse backgrounds and organizational levelsAll other duties as assignedREQUIREMENTS AND EDUCATION Two-year technical degree in Engineering Technology or related experienceAssociate degree in CADD preferredProficient in CADD theories and principlesKnowledge of business standards, practices, procedures, and product / program requirementsWorking knowledge of or are familiar with software packages: AutoCAD, Revit, Civil 3-D, Vault, BlueBeam and NavisworksProficient in the use of computer-aided design software and Microsoft OfficeAbility to perform basic designer assignments independently and handle multiple projects with shifting prioritiesActive listening skills and effective communication including an openness to diverse input and feedbackAdvanced understanding of discipline specific technical designs, QA/QC procedures, and engineering policiesMinimum six years related work experience with two years' experience as a practicing designer/technicianExperience in the T&D industryAbility to travel up to 10%BENEFITSMortenson provides a comprehensive benefits program to team members and their families to support their health, build long-term financial security, and provide the opportunity for work. and life balance.
