Your job will involve various levels of artistic creativity and will ultimately lead to the complete or modified design for output to media, and you may interact with customers to ensure complete satisfaction with the final product. The ideal candidate is a creative, self-motivated team player who can work in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment and who is determined to make every project his or her absolute best.RESPONSIBILITIESSchedules the center's workflowReads and interprets work orders, determines best output method, and determines size and arrangement of illustrative material and copyWorks with co-workers and customers with file transfers, FTP access, photo library options, online proofs, etc.Prepares comprehensive illustrations, sketches, layouts, and copy for print reproduction according to instructions of client or supervisorInspects jobs for accuracy before sending them to the plotter or printerProvides proofs as necessary for customer approvalPerforms daily/weekly computer back-upsMaintains all equipment including computers, plotters, and printersMaintains accurate electronic and paper recordsMinimizes waste by efficiently using appropriate inventory, reporting inventory levels and stock to be reordered to the managerHelps unload raw materials and cleans and maintains storage areasHelps in the production area as neededMaintains work area in a neat and organized mannerPerforms other duties as needed, such as answering the phone, helping at the front counter, consulting with customers, etc.QUALIFICATIONSHigh school diploma or GED required; advanced education degree preferredStrong PC and Mac skills and internet, publishing software, and sign production software skillsPrevious sign or print industry experience requiredPrevious service business experience desiredVery strong communication and interpersonal skillsAble to effectively and efficiently organize, prioritize, and manage clients, team members, and workAble to sit and view a computer screen for long periodsAble to lift 50 or more poundsMust have the flexibility to lean over a waist-high table and use back forth hand motions to apply vinyl letters and graphics to a substrateAble to use light power equipment
