Our client outside Columbus OH is looking to add a CAD Designer to their team for a contract opportunity!
If you have experience with sheet metal, automotive design, solidworks, and armour then this job is perfect for you. Candidates should have 5-7 years of experience with doing CAD modeling, drawings, design and detail. Candidates that have a mechanical engineering background will also be great for this position.

work hours: 8am to 4pm

responsibilities:
- Collaborate with the mechanical engineering design team to perform design tasks, including armor panel layouts and detailed design of parts to meet customer needs and design requirements.
- Create Level 2 and Level 3 drawings in accordance with ANSI Y14.5 standards, DOD-STD-100, and other applicable guidelines.
- Demonstrate proficiency in creating mechanical layouts and conducting design studies/trade analyses as needed.
- Possess familiarity with weldments, ballistic plates, and other mechanical part drawings; experience with composite layouts and processes is preferred.
- Knowledge of electronic and optronics packaging is a plus.
- Maintain a working knowledge of materials, processes, and coatings used for military vehicles.
- Work collaboratively within a small team under the guidance of engineers.
- Operate within an organized framework to facilitate efficient information sharing.
- Participate in design and verification reviews as required, and support Change Control Board (CCB) initiatives on projects.
