IMMI is seeking for a Snr CAD Designer to Innovate new and improved components that advance the state of the technology. Assist Engineers primarily in the area of CAD design, but avail themselves to development, testing, fabrication, and prepare to produce component and system level technology for the target discipline or market to gain optimum customer use / satisfaction, safety, quality to achieve the desired growth.

Job Responsibilities:
  • Support Engineers in design and development of new and sustaining components and systems through innovative and effective Minimal Viable Products (MVP). Work with Engineers to understand the design intent and design CAD parts with minimal instruction from Engineer.
  • Work with Engineers in a cross functional environment New Product Development (NPD) process to support all design and development activities of components and systems to keep concept to hand-off lead times as short as possible.
  • Develop component part designs in line with industry and proper engineering practices in common materials and processes such as stamping, blanking, forming, fine blanking, injection molding, thermoset molding, die and investment casting, cold forming, extruding, draw forming or others where appropriate.
  • Support Engineering team in resolving CAD issues as well ongoing Training.
  • Order prototype parts and assist in procurement of necessary parts for Prototype creation.
  • Help support Global CAD team with modeling, drawings, and fixture design.
  • Work collaboratively to execute projects with various internal teams like Testing, Purchasing, Manufacturing, Quality and Finance.
  • Ability to oversee and manage multiple projects at a time and prioritize work.
  • Gain peer and management product insight through informal and formal design reviews.
  • Utilize design tools available to maximize development time while ensuring optimal product design.
  • Fully supports company programs, policies and objectives.
Experience: Experience, Knowledge, and Abilities:
  • 5 years of CAD Design Work
  • Proficient with 3D solid modeling design software, SOLIDWORKS preferred.
  • Plastics and Sheet Metal design development experience required.
  • Knowledge of GD&T best practices.
  • Must have general knowledge of manufacturing and assembly methodologies.
  • Strong results orientation and positive "can do" attitude with a sense of urgency.
  • Self-starter: a "hands-on" individual who enjoys challenge and is dedicated to getting the job done with minimal support and direction.
