Wolcott Architecture is seeking an Intermediate Designer with proven experience in interiors architecture design. The Intermediate Designer is responsible for actively participating and contributing to developing design concepts, which are incorporated into the final product by production staff. The Intermediate Designer, in the role of project leader, may begin to handle some project management tasks but will primarily work on technical aspects.

Experience Required:

  • A minimum of 5-7 years previous design experience in the architectural/interiors field.
  • Bachelor’s degree in interior design or interior architecture required.

Qualifications:

  • Proficiency in Revit, AutoCad, Adobe Creative Suite, SketchUp, MS Office 365, Outlook and Teams
  • Knowledge of fundamental aspects of interior planning and design, staff and space programming, furnishings, architectural materials, and construction costs.
  • Capable of developing space plans with minimal supervision.
  • Basic understanding of how to develop basic furniture specifications and schematic installation drawings, including systems furniture.
  • Capable of preparing CAD-generated architectural working drawings with minimal supervision and oversight.
  • Capable of presenting and communicating design concepts and ideas to internal team as well as to the client.
  • Capable of selecting design finishes, understanding application, cost, and durability for specific jobs, with minimal oversight.
  • Double checking all red marks prior to submitting for review.
  • Awareness and understanding of project schedule, design fees, project budgets, reimbursable costs, etc.
  • Basic knowledge of LEED/Sustainability design concepts and certification requirements.
  • Comfort and ease with client interaction and design presentation.
