Job Title: Technology Designer
Job Overview:
Applies mechanical systems design knowledge, skill, and ability to create construction drawings for the project owner and provides continuous professional support throughout the entire construction process.
Serves as the primary liaison responsible for coordination and communication activities between the design team and the client/customer and provides project management oversight and professional support throughout the entire construction process.
Responsibilities
- Project manage multidiscipline Technology coordination and design capabilities for all phases from Conceptual/Schematic Design through Construction Documents and Construction Contract Administration.
- Review architectural and MEP engineering plans and consult on Technology design for the space, equipment selection, and systems design.
- Design and prepare the layout of floor plans, riser diagrams, schedules, specification notes and details for Technology designs.
- Work within a team environment to ensure client standards are met and that all technology systems are incorporated into the overall system design.
- Serve as a technical resource for others throughout the firm, providing thought leadership and subject matter expertise as well as providing guidance for our clients in technology-related decisions.
- Provide mentoring and knowledge transfer to junior engineers; keep current with technology trends and standards.
- Research, develop and evaluate emerging technology to maximize the firm’s services.
- Assure Quality standards with adherence to QA/QC procedures.
Minimum Qualifications
- Minimum of 5 years of experience; Experience in a Hospitality projects a significant advantage.
- RCDD Certified Required
- CTS Certified Required / CTS-D a plus
- ASIS Certification a plus
- Thorough knowledge of telecommunications cabling and infrastructure design and implementation. Thorough knowledge of audiovisual background music, IPTV distribution, conference room, meeting spaces and streaming media design. Thorough knowledge of camera layout, access control systems, camera storage calculations and image recognition calculations.
- Knowledge of industry standards including BICSI, AVIXA, ASIS, IEEE and TIA/EIA
- Strong knowledge of AutoCAD / BIM/Revit. Proficient in Microsoft Suite and TEAMS
