Vanguard Fire & Security Systems, Inc. is looking for a Fire Sprinkler Designer to prepare layouts for sprinkler systems, detail drawings, calculations, and sketches. Detail all views for field teams to complete projects efficiently.

Responsibilities and Duties:

• Design fire protection sprinkler systems, fire pumps, tanks , wet, dry and deluge systems
• Use AutoCad to develop shop drawings, equipment lists with a focus on applicable NFPA and local code compliance, project specifications and contract documents
• Complete accurate field surveys and communication with contractors and subcontractors to gather documentation
• Coordinate shop drawings with the engineering team and field technicians
• Develop submittal packages for contractors and authorities having jurisdiction
• Obtain all required approvals

Qualifications:

• NICET certifications are preferred
• Ability to read and interpret construction documents, drawings, and project specifications
• Strong analytical and mathematical aptitude
• Proficiency with AutoCAD or HydraCAD is preferred
• Working knowledge of mechanical design, equipment configuration, and project management
• Familiarity with general construction practices and terms
• Working knowledge of NFPA codes
