Responsibilities
- Help team members in all different roles understand the benefits of certain business improvements that can be made with optimal user interfaces
- Mentor other team members to improve their domain knowledge
- Strong collaborator who enjoys working with a cross-disciplined team
- Employ use of various UX research methods for data driven design decisions
- Meet with developer and engineers to understand business and functional requirements
- Create wireframes/mock-ups/reports for internal and external facing products and present to development team and stakeholders
Qualifications
Required:
- Experience across multiple UX methodologies (e.g., information architecture, heuristics, usability, interactive design, research, producing deliverables, prototyping, etc.) with evidence of demonstrating broad types of UX competencies.
- Strong ability to assess designs based on usability and UX best practices and communicate findings/recommendations to team members
- Experience as a develoepr in an Enterprise environment.
- Working knowledge of accessibility standards, WCAG
- Familiar with the creation of user personas, user journeys and other design artifacts
- Able to produce exemplary artifacts and reference materials to support design initiatives (e.g., point-of-view decks, wireframes, prototypes, mockups, etc.) and provide associated guidelines
- Experience with usability testing software (E.g. UserTesting, Optimal Workshop) and methods to understand user behavior (Moderated/unmoderated usability testing, A/B tests, card sorting, surveys, etc.)
- Experience in mentoring junior UX designers
- Serves as an educational resource for the entire organization.
- Ability to work 100% on-site in Pontiac, Michigan
Preferred:
- Degree in Human Computer Interaction, User Experience Design, Interaction Design
- Knowledge of creating / maintaining design systems
- Designing to brand standards / style guides
- Experience with heuristic analysis
- Exemplary critical thinking skills
- Exceptional emotional intelligence skills
- Working knowledge of HTML and CSS
- Experience with technical writing
