Title: Fire Sprinkler Designer

Location: Norton, MA – On Site

Hours: 7am-3:30pm, M-F

Compensation: Depending on Experience

We perform work in residential, commercial, public, and industrial sectors; from small jobs replacing one head to multi-million-dollar contracts outfitting 300,000sqf buildings. Rustic is the premier fire protection contractor in the state and has the track record and growth to prove it.

About the role: We are currently seeking a qualified fire sprinkler designer to prepare shop drawing submittals, field installation drawings, hydraulic calculations, and narratives based on the requirements set by NFPA code standards, the International Building Code, and the Local Authority or fire marshal. This position is a full-time, in-person design role – candidates will be expected to commute to and from the office as required.

Responsibilities include:

-         Detailing of shop drawings, installation prints, hydraulic calculations, 3D coordination, and supporting field installation crews.

-         Compile and prepare submittal plans (shop drawings) and hydraulic calculations for review by architects, engineers, clients, and authorities having jurisdiction.

-         Coordinate fire sprinkler design with building structure and other MEP subcontractors.

-         Prepare cut-lists and installation prints to be used for material procurement, working together with project managers to meet project schedules.

The ideal candidate will have:

-         1-3 years of experience in fire sprinkler related design – NICET Certifications are a plus.

-         Knowledge of the design of Wet & Dry Systems, Pre-action, Manual & Automatic Standpipes, Fire pumps and storage tanks.

-         Experience with AutoSPRINK, Navisworks, AutoCAD software suites – willing to train the right candidate.

-         Fluent with MS Office products including Word, Excel, and Outlook.

-         Effective written and verbal communication skills
