JJR works at the intersection of human-centered design and traditional government contracting. As the Designer, UX/UI you will be responsible for guiding government clients through design thinking processes incorporating human-centered and design thinking methods to solve end-to-end service and customer and employee experience challenges. You will collaborate on efforts to design and prototype innovative solutions that incorporate visual, user-experience, interaction, and information design fundamentals. Develop user-experience and high-fidelity digital prototyping and design and deliver wireframes, user stories, user journeys, and prototypes optimized for a wide range of devices and interfaces incorporating emerging technology trends. You have a user-centered design approach and are comfortable rapidly testing and iterating on developed designs.Position ExpectationsPerform all duties in accordance with our code of conduct.Actively engage in your role and be accountable for all outcomes.Deliver exceptional service to internal and external clients, partners, teammates.Contribute to JJR’s strategic initiatives required to achieve JJR’s Grounded & Growing 2025 objectives.ContributionsDeliver Exceptional Client ExperienceAs a Designer UI/UX, you will be responsible for developing intuitive and user-friendly designs, wireframes, and technical interfaces to bring technical solutions to life. You will drive adoptability and usability of the systems we develop and will employ design techniques that always put the user's perspective first in the solution.Apply an iterative, design thinking process and lens to help clients solve complex problems in strategic planning, process improvement, technology adoption and evolution, and service delivery.Act as the lead designer for a variety of projects.Create clear web and digital experiences for primarily government clients.Work closely with both external clients and internal, cross-functional teams on projects that range from a few weeks to a few months in length.Communicate with government stakeholders and decision-makers in compelling ways using a variety of visual mediums.Synthesize research and data and craft compelling stories to communicate insights that will shape service and technology innovations.Create low and high-fidelity wireframes, story maps, and end user stories in a product backlog.Demonstrate how user research should be integrated into developing technology and new ways of working.Design and deliver customized, engaging, results-oriented interventions and workshops to improve organizational and team performance.Perform research and convert insights from leading designers, strategists, and technologists into solutions to organizational management challenges.Craft compelling stories and visual models to communicate insights and discoveries.Experience collaborating within a multi-disciplinary delivery team including other designers, technologists, data scientists, engineers, solution architects, and change managers.Required Education, Experience, & Skills:Minimum bachelor's degree in business administration, business management, computer science, information systems, information resource management, industrial engineering, operations research, or related fields. Certifications in relevant UX or UI Software is also a plus.Minimum of 2 years of experience in UX/UI design.Proven record of planning and conducting UX/UI design programs, developing insights, envisioning desirable human futures, and translating concepts into action.Thorough knowledge and demonstrated experience applying design thinking/HCD principles and tools to solve client challenges.JJR may choose to substitute education with relevant experience.Active Top-Secret clearance required.Preferred Education, Experience, & SkillsExceptional oral and written communication and presentation skills, with proficiency in multiple methods of visual communication.Relevant UX software experience (Mural, Figma, and Jira is preferred).Familiarity and/or experience working on a scrum team within the Agile delivery framework.Experience in group facilitation, including with groups of senior organizational leaders.Ability to work in a fast-paced and dynamic environment.A deep, natural curiosity and strong interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills.Ability to be nimble through constant change and unexpected challenges.Self-starter and results-oriented, able to work under minimal mentorship.Application and technology delivery experience.Familiarity designing interfaces with SharePoint and/or Atlassian a plus.TOTAL COMPENSATION PACKAGESalary: In accordance with various state and federal pay transparency regulations, as well as best industry practices, our job descriptions include the salary range we reasonably expect to pay those joining our team, contingent upon little to no training being required. A final salary is subject to several factors, including but not limited to the following: years of experience, education, certification(s), training, specialized skills, responsibilities, etc.The range of pay for this position is $85,000-$110,000.Core Benefits: Medical, Dental, Vision, 401K, Monthly $200 HSA Match, Complimentary $50k Basic Life and AD&D (eligible employees), STD, Complimentary LTD, AFLAC Coverage, etc.PTO, Flexible Schedule, and Holidays: Employees receive a robust amount of PTO along with flexible/hybrid working schedules and additional support for new parents.
