Our goal is to create a workplace that employees are proud to be a part of and want to retire from.Genera l Characteristics: A Senior Designer should have an advanced knowledge of all aspects of piping design. This includes, but is not limited to, a strong understanding of industry standards (e.g. ASME, ANSI, API), a knowledge of materials and their impact on design, a strong knowledge and comfort in using AutoCAD® and CADWorx® Plant, and an ability to layout and design complex facilities. Senior Designers are also required to lead and teach Junior Designers, communicating instructions in a constructive manner.Required Skills:Self-Sufficiency : Requires minimal day-to-day supervision, demonstrating an ability to learn quickly and make independent decisions.Review and Quality Control : Reviews designs for adherence to sound practices, accuracy, and compliance with scope, budget, and schedule.Communication : Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to interact professionally with coworkers, clients, vendors, and other business contacts. Demonstrates a commitment to developing leadership skills.Attention to Detail : Expert in P&ID and piping annotation, able to follow redlines according to industry standards, identify errors, and backcheck other's work. Able to develop P&IDs from walkdowns independently, with strong understanding of end-to-end design workflows.Time Management : Skilled at handling multiple small projects with competing deadlines, adjusting priorities proactively to meet schedules.Modeling and Drafting : Creates complex models, construction drawings, and bills of material, working closely with project teams to produce complete construction packages.Training and Leadership : Comfortable training others and reviewing work of the project team.Navisworks® Proficiency : Capable of leading model reviews and refining piping design to meet client and engineering expectations.Engineering Codes and Standards : Knowledgeable in implementing engineering specifications and codes within the design process.Technical AutoCAD Skills : Expert in AutoCAD, with familiarity in lisp routines, CUI, plotting, troubleshooting, and providing technical support to team members.Required Qualifications and Experiences: Background : Demonstrate expertise through related work experience in an EPC firm, fabrication shop, manufacturing facility, petrochemical plant, or a similar industry.Technical Skills : Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office, AutoCAD®, CADWorx® P&ID, CADWorx® Plant, Bluebeam Revu®, Cloudworx®, Navisworks®, and other relevant software.Field Experience : Knowledge of field dimension gathering, P&ID "as-building," and walking down P&IDs to locate tie-in points on active facilities is an advantage.Process Knowledge : Broad understanding of process theory, industrial components, and equipment.Laser Scanning : Familiarity with laser scanning and point cloud drafting is a plus.Experience Level : Typically, 5-9 years of progressive, relevant design experience; a minimum of 5 years is required.How to apply Please email your cover letter and resume to Kahuna-AdminServices@KahunaUSA.com.
