We offer a wide variety of wood structural components, aluminum decks and rails, and light gauge steel structural components.The Remote Truss Designer is responsible for the accurate design of roof and floor trusses for single-family, multi-family, and commercial projects.Location: can be remote anywhere in the United StatesPrincipal Duties and Responsibilities * Design metal plate-connected wood trusses and Wall Panels utilizing Mitek software * Optimize designs for maximum efficiency * Review orders, layouts, and data files for accuracy * Assist sales and production with design service and troubleshooting * Performs other duties as requiredQualifications * Minimum high school graduate * Preferred bachelor's degree in a related discipline or equivalent * Minimum 2 to 5 years of experience in related field/responsibilities * Working knowledge and experience using Mitek software are preferred * Working knowledge of floor and rood systems and the ability to spec out beams and hangarsCompensation and Benefit Information: $45,000 - 65,000 annuallyBonus/Incentive Pay: A discretionary annual bonus based on Company and business unit performance may also be provided.Medical insurance * Health savings account with company contribution * Dental insurance * Vision insurance * Basic and voluntary life insurance * Disability insurance * 401(k) plan with company match * Paid vacation and holidays * Stock purchase program with employee discount * Educational reimbursement * Wellness programs and challenges * Other supplemental benefitsThe Company is an Equal Opportunity Employer.Universal Forest Products and its subsidiaries and affiliates are equal opportunity employers.
