Job Overview:
We are seeking a creative and detail-oriented Associate Event Designer to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will have a passion for event design, with the ability to create mood boards, source décor, and handle tight deadlines. This role also requires some technical skills, including preparing print files, working with ground plans, and basic CAD work. You will be involved in all stages of event design, from concept creation to on-site execution.
Key Responsibilities:
Mood Boarding: Develop and present mood boards that capture the vision and theme of the event, aligning with client expectations and brand guidelines.
Sourcing Décor: Identify and source event décor, props, and materials, ensuring that all items meet design specifications and budget constraints.
Design Collaboration: Work closely with senior designers, event coordinators, and vendors to ensure cohesive design implementation across all event elements.
Additionally, fully own smaller-scope design projects from start to finish
Technical Design Work:
Prepare print files and other design assets needed for event production.
Assist in creating ground plans and layouts using CAD software.
On-Site Coordination: Participate in on-site event setup and breakdown, ensuring that the design vision is executed flawlessly.
Deadline Management: Manage multiple projects simultaneously, meeting all deadlines and maintaining high standards of quality.
Vendor Relations: Communicate with vendors to secure materials, obtain pricing, and coordinate deliveries.
Problem-Solving: Quickly adapt to changes and resolve any design-related issues that arise during event preparation or execution.
Qualifications:
Education: Bachelor’s degree in Event Design, Interior Design, or a related field is preferred, but not required.
Experience: 2-4 years of experience in event design, interior design, theater design, or a similar field. Experience with mood boarding, sourcing décor, and working on-site is essential.
Technical Skills:
Proficiency in design software such as Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign).
Basic knowledge of CAD software for creating ground plans is preferred but not required.
Ability to prepare print files and work with various design formats.
Soft Skills:
Strong attention to detail and creativity.
Excellent time management skills with the ability to work under tight deadlines.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
Ability to communicate with clients written and in person.
Other Requirements: Ability to lift and move event materials and props as needed, and flexibility to work extended hours, including weekends, during event setup and breakdown.

Salary Range: $75,000-$85,000 DOE
