Position Summary:
The Senior Product Designer will focus on user problems and pain points (not solutions), gathering requirements based on understanding the user journey, designing the user interface, prototyping new and intuitive ways for customers to interact and leverage their brand dataset, and validating designs through user research. This position will lead a user-focused approach to product development across the teams to bring customer needs to life in innovative software. At this time, candidates who would work in the following states will not be considered for this role: VT, RI, NY, NJ, NH, MI, ME, MA, DE, CO, CT, CA, and AZ.
Essential Functions:
- Produce sketches, wireframes and high-fidelity designs for user-centered interfaces and experiences using design software (Figma).
- Conduct user research, including (but not limited to) usability testing and user interviews.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams. Work with stakeholders and product to prioritize features and functionality. Review designs and features with developers. Provide feedback and design reviews for developer work.
- Analyze, organize and summarize user research data, share findings and suggestions with stakeholders.
- Produce interactive prototypes using design software (Figma).
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Required:
- Product Discovery and Research Experience- Experience with both quantitative and qualitative user research methodologies (including usability testing and user interviews) to define projects and measures of success, test your assumptions and outcomes, and continuously incorporate feedback. Research, gather, and evaluate user needs in collaboration with product managers and engineers. Discover insights through continuous client, customer, user, and stakeholder engagement and interviews o Review prototypes with users to validate assumptions made during product discovery. Summarize and communicate research findings within product teams and the broader organization
- Strong Holistic User Experience Design & Prototyping Experience- Work side-by-side with engineers and product managers to rapidly translate concepts into sketches, low- to medium-fidelity wireframes, and high-fidelity visual designs; use these to drive conversations with your team and to facilitate testing and discussions with users. Ability to step into the customer’s shoes with enthusiasm to craft great experiences. Experience designing modern, responsive interfaces that look great on any device. Experience in accessibility best practices, understanding of WCAG guidelines
- Experience with usability testing and user acceptance testing. Apply usability metrics and design principles to refine design decisions and to prioritize your work and product decisions. Conduct user acceptance testing to ensure delivered product matches prototypes and is usable
- Ability to develop the strategy and rationale for features
- Ability to balance methodologies and practical scenarios
- Ability to effectively take direction with feedback from co-workers and partners
- Experience in collaborating with users, product managers, engineers, QA, customer success, and internal stakeholders
Desirable But Not Essential:
- Experience building/maintaining design systems
- Experience with Figma
- Experience with HTML and CSS
Education and Experience:
- Bachelor's degree in related discipline or combination of equivalent education and experience.
- 7 - 10 years of experience in similar field.
- Experience building/maintaining design systems
