Phenix Truck & Van is hiring: CAD Designer Drafter in Pomona

Phenix Truck & Van is seeking talented candidates for a CAD Drafter / Designer position to join our design & engineering team. If you have a passion for manufacturing, computer-aided design (CAD) and would enjoy designing work truck solutions and automotive systems, this may be an excellent opportunity!

The CAD Technician transforms initial rough product designs or written specifications using computer-aided design (CAD) into sales and working drawings. This position works closely with team members to create and modify design drawings, as-built drawings, and electrical and hydraulic diagrams.

Candidate must be exceptionally proficient in 2D and 3D CAD utilizing AutoCAD LT and SolidWorks. Candidate must be able to work under limited supervision to develop and/or modify written & visual specifications for the sales and production departments.

Required Qualifications

• Associate’s or Bachelor’s Degree in CAD Drafting or equivalent technical/fieldwork experience
• Minimum of 5 years of AutoCAD LT & Solidworks CAD experience
• Sheet metal manufacturing process knowledge and experience
• Basic knowledge of vehicle systems & manufacturing processes
• Basic Engineering Mathematics

Required Skills

• Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and written specifications
• Ability to communicate effectively with management and shop personnel
• Possess excellent time management skills
• Ability to finish projects on time with limited supervision
• Must be flexible and able to handle multiple projects & priorities
• Ability to adjust to high-pressure and rapidly changing business conditions

Required Software Proficiency:

• Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, Teams...)
• Adobe Acrobat
• AutoCAD LT 2022
• SolidWorks 2024

Work Environment

• Typical office environment conditions for design and workstation tasks (~70%)
• A portion of the designer’s time will be spent in a manufacturing floor/shop environment, under & on vehicles (~30%)
