Visit us online at www.arcxis.com .General Overview of Position:Arcxis is seeking Mechanical designers and engineers with a wide range of experience who are skilled primarily in multi-family commercial HVAC design and Engineering. This includes performing Manual J, S, D HVAC design, as well as designing duct layouts in AutoCAD by integrating with our in-house frame designs in accordance with ACCA, IRC, and IBC standards. Mechanical Designers and Engineers collaborate and partner across all disciplines to ensure the highest level of cross-disciplined design integration for a one-stop shop solution to our partners commercial design needs.Essential Functions of the Job:Job duties will be to produce ASHRAE RTS/CLTD heat loss/gain calculations, equipment selection and specification, and duct system designs for non-residential buildings using Wrightsoft, and final construction documents in AutoCADProduce Manual J, S, and D calculations for heat loss/gain, equipment selection and specification, and duct system designs for residential buildings using Wrightsoft, and final construction documents in AutoCAD.Mechanical HVAC engineering and design of single and multi-family, low and high-rise, clubhouses, amenity centers, etc. for commercial HVAC systemsUnderstand the design process from DD to CDCoordinate and attend meetings for all phases of projects from initial phase - to - completion to include: utility coordination, MEP internal coordination, and applicable tasksRespond to all electrical RFI's and/or Shop drawings per the contractual deadlinesCommunicate directly with clients for problems & resolutions, provide expert advice and project specifications that aid client teamsProvide estimated hours for new work based on estimated effort requiredGenerate detailed mechanical design drawings in AutoCAD for construction documentation of mechanical systems for bidding and constructionPrepare Construction Documents in AutoCADWork with design staff and drafters to complete projectCompetencies: Strong AutoCAD background (preferred 10+ year's experience)Wrightsoft (preferred 5-10+ year's experience)BluebeamMicrosoft Excel, Word, Outlook, TeamsThe ability to read blueprints, both in CAD and final plan setsCompute dimensions from architectural plansDetail oriented and self-motivatedAbility to work well with other engineers/designersStrong analytical and problem-solving skills with high attention to detail.Code Knowledge Energy and building code compliance for mechanical systemsFluent in California Title 24IRC Residential CodesIBC Commercial CodesICC International CodesUniform building codesDrive deadlines in dynamic and fast-moving environments across multiple projects simultaneously with or without direct supervision throughout all phases of projects.Team players with exceptional interpersonal skills at all organizational levels.Self-directed, with good initiative and a great multi-taskerRequirements BS in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent comparative experience.Preferred 10-15+ years' experience in Mechanical Design for commercial building systems, code compliance, and construction.Strong background in using Wrighsoft load calculation software. Must be able to set up the calculations based on Code requirements and design system/systems to meet building loads with minimal help.Must be able to select mechanical equipment based on the best solution for the building using manufacture's engineering data.Candidate should be able to work independently with little supervision designing mechanical HVAC plans from project kick-off to completion of the project.Mechanical Design experience with various cooling systems, VRF systems, ventilation, and exhaust systems.Mechanical Design experience with mid-rise multifamily buildings, mixed use buildings, residential/commercial and enclosed parking garages.Candidate should be able to refer to architectural, structural, plumbing, and electrical drawings for coordination purposes across all disciplines, with regard to timeliness of project completion and deadlines.Work Schedule:Monday - Friday day shift, however additional hours, including weekend hours, may be required in accordance with changing business needs.Benefits: 401(k)401(k) matchingDental insuranceEmployee assistance programHealth insuranceHealth savings accountLife insurancePaid time offReferral programVision insurance
