JOB SUMMARY: Responsible for all aspects of conceptual graphic design, layout, production and pre-press for print communications. Ensure high-quality visual output aligned with corporate branding and creative standards.
DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Plan concepts by studying information and materials presented in the creative brief.
- Collaborate with art director and managers on design and layout
- Design and develop creative concepts for print, in a style and tone that conveys the Oceania Cruises¿ brand.
- Think creatively to produce new ideas and concepts in time and within budget.
- Create high-quality collateral pieces, including brochures, direct mail, flyers, menus, ads, posters, and displays.
- Present finalized ideas and concepts to the creative director or account managers.
- Amend designs according to changes in brief, changes to information, and creative direction.
- Proof and prepare files for print.
- Oversee, train, and coach production artists and external vendors to ensure work meets the highest creative standards.
- Contribute to internal department initiatives, including updating and creating processes, documentation, tools, etc.
- Keep abreast of emerging technologies in new media, particularly design programs such as Creative Suite.
- Work with outside vendors and printers to provide properly prepared art files per the vendor or printer's requirements.
- Perform other job-related functions as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS
DEGREE TYPE: Bachelor's Degree
FIELD(S) OF STUDY: Graphic Design and/or Advertising preferably from Design/Fine Art Institution or any equivalent combination of relevant background and work experience.
EXPERIENCE:
Minimum 4 years' experience in a corporate or agency creative department. Extensive brochure and direct mail experience required. Cruise or travel industry preferred.
COMPETENCIES/SKILLS:
- Strong design, typography, and photo-retouching skills.
- Ability to process high volume work accurately and for extended periods.
- Attention to detail and ability to perform routine, repetitive tasks with a high accuracy.
- Strong understanding of corporate branding and adherence to brand guidelines.
- Ability to develop creativity concepts from initial idea to final artwork, including production and pre-press.
- In-depth knowledge of printing techniques, materials, and design software for color accuracy and producing print-ready files without errors.
- Expertise in post-press finishing techniques such as binding, trimming, and packaging.
- Highly detail-oriented, well-organized and able to manage multiple projects under tight deadlines.
- Ability to work independently and quickly.
- Clear and confident communication with internal clients to understand their visual and communication needs.
- Team player who is self-motivated and flexible.
- Excellent time management, customer service and problem-solving skills.
- Organizational skills to prioritize work and complete assignments accurately under pressure of competing deadlines and with frequent interruptions.
- Advanced knowledge of digital imaging and illustration with current Adobe software.
- Expert working knowledge of Mac platform with Adobe Creative Suite and Microsoft Office Suite required.
- Expert pre-press and production skills.
- Must present a PDF portfolio of sample work or website URL with resume to be considered.
